  1. What a furnace....wow. 60s and sun. T-shirt weather for sure.
  2. Lost a total of 2-2.5" inches the past 2 days of snowpack. Actually get a lot of sun in half my yard this time of year, but its totally flat and gently slopes north, so not a ton of loss even with 7 hours of sun. South facing hills taking a beating though around here and in town locations also melting out-- almost nothing left. Snowpack beat down comes today though with mid 40's dews and sun and warmer temps. Kids had their Junior Ski program through school at Bromley yesterday afternoon, definitely springs like conditions with Bromley's southern exposure and lots of sun. Pretty much everything was soft by afternoon. I'm good with melting out my yard at this point and keeping some snow up high and then hopefully we get one or two more bigger events mid-late month.
  3. Think your right for the most part. 17'-18' was actually top 3-5 all time in SVT (snowfall wise) in the mountains and #1 in the valley. I don't think it was on that level down by your area though? Most other years probably closer to average with an all time rat in 15-16 by a good margin.
  4. Get your advisory events while you can... .. Not sure if this was posted already somewhere. National Weather Service set to drop advisories by 2024 - The Washington Post
  5. Guess there were some higher gusts than I thought on the other side of town.
  6. Wow, that's a solid pickup from squalls--nice. Nothing here but a dusting. NW winds just don't do much here, feel like MAYBE gusted to 40. Had no problem sleeping.
  7. Nasty looking band rotating through N NY
  8. Well, it really is completely different microclimate than most of VT. Not that this is breaking news. You could get a string of late blooming Millers B's that leave most of the VT posters with a few inches of sand or cirrus. Some years, the wealth is spread more evenly, this year little different obviously.
  9. By a long shot. I made a totally innocuous post couple years ago to someone who was moving to VT (or getting a second house maybe) with some general info on climo and a link that I thought would help and someone posted right after "don't get why people from different regions are still coming in posting". Something along those lines. I certainly wasn't popping in to rub in some big snow dump.
  10. He did give it an A+ in the other thread. But yea, even at this point with 120" that would be an all time best for like 95% of this forum.
  11. It would have been great if Phin didn't have this forum as a resource and his own personal topographic tour guide (Will) and ended up in Whitefield or Bennington.. He would be doing some serious complaining....lol.
  12. Still hanging on here too..although Phins looks "cleaner" more pot holes forming on top here in the pack..looks kind of ugly.
  13. Oh, yea not sure if he means depth or snowfall. 2 different metrics obviously.
  14. It's also easier to be much more above normal by now here since the average is lower than those guys further north.
  15. Below average depth looks like. I don't think Phins area has been better than most of VT. He looks below normal to date. I think JSpin is above normal to date(he can confirm)Figure all of Maine is well below average? Not really NNE here, more CNE but no one is probably more above average here than my area, Im already prob 25-30 inches above seasonal average, not even to season to date-- prob more like 50 inches above normal to date. Anyone else can chime in. I know RUT area is also prob near seasonal averages or above too before March even starts.
  16. Going on 38 straight days of 12"+ here, not much in the pipeline so will be dwindling. Grinch takes away A or A+ here, but I would go solid A-. Top 3 all timer in DEC and pretty consistent and above normal snowfall and snow cover. If March is totally punted, maybe down to B+.
  17. 90% of the residential driveways here locally are gravel, unless there are extreme freeze/thaw cycles, driveways just stay snow packed for the most part in the heart of winter. With higher sun angle and freeze/thaw cycle things get dicey now though.
  18. Oh yea, damn. That's crazy for BTV. Guessing that winter was frigid.
  19. Pretty impressive for BTV..only one other date in the 2000s on there, even without the extreme arctic cold, lack of cutters certainly made this streak possible as it's so easy to torch there on south winds.
  20. Yep, along with Tamarack who can get 48" of snow for a season and still have a 30" snowpack...lol.
  21. HRRR has a 38F over your house at 7pm..so sort of close.
  22. As PF mentioned l, the micro climates are insane in NNE. Gene rotting at 28-30F all day while your at 40F at 1500ft. One glance at a topo map and you know south winds are going to be trouble for your area. Not many areas that do well on all wind directions where people actually live. Locally Woodford does pretty well on most wind directions, so good for the 100 people there..lol.
  23. Warmest in NH outside of coastal NH---congrats? 39.2F here as well.
