  1. Check please! (15 miles south of GSO)
  2. Wow, based on the latest discussion from RAH, I get the feeling they are very unimpressed. Basically Triad area may get an inch at best and areas south and east of 40/85 in their forecasting area may not see any accumulation at all, hardly even mention the back end snow. Totally different vibe than last night’s discussion when they were going with the higher QPF NAM and possibly adding counties to the Winter Storm Watch. Sounds like the morning crew are siding with the Euro solution of less moisture. .
  3. It literally just fizzles out to nothing in the GOM. Wow. .
  4. That’s two solid runs from the GFS for the I-40 corridor from WS/GSO to Durham. .
  5. The 6z GFS brings the 1/11 storm system back to life compared to the 00z run. .
  6. I know the GFS used to be notorious for suppressing or even losing a storm system like this 5-7 days out only to slowly bring it back. Not sure if it still has that issue or not. .
  7. I’m thinking the UK is splitting hairs here. The surface temps are just above freezing but the entire column is below freezing just on the back side of the low. I’m thinking the UK was extremely close to having a nice band of snow moving across central NC. One could argue it should be snow. .
  8. The 12z Euro is like the voice of reason that can't be ignored. The entire system seemed to be not nearly as strong as the 00z run. Even the severe parameters were lessoned from the last run.
  9. Regardless of the outcomes, it looks pretty certain we are going to have a major storm system to track for Christmas. It's been a long time...
  10. The 997mb coastal LP sure helped for Christmas!! .
  11. That is also PTI’s coldest Christmas on record. That was a very cold stretch. The 24th, 25th and 26th morning low records still stand. .
  12. The 4Z HRRR was a little heavier on the ice, especially in the Triad. .
  13. It’s just a cold rain 15 miles south of GSO. 36/27 .
  14. PTI in GSO: 34/25 They share the lowest DP in the state among all the official reporting sites currently. .
  15. The 18z Euro wants to develop are narrow band of dynamic cooling aloft over the Piedmont Wednesday afternoon. Actually supports a brief period of snow. What is going on?? .
  16. 6:37 pm. 35/27 Randleman, NC .
  17. Yeah no kidding. Looks like DC, Philly, and NYC could all get acquainted with the warm nose. (Insert evil laugh)
  18. Good grief... The 12z NAM looks more like the RGEM in regards to the accumulated ice. It appears that some areas along the eastern ridges of the blue ridge are going to get a major ice storm.
  19. Next frame on the Euro. Most of all NC goes over to a cold rain.
  20. I don't have access to the accumulated ice maps, but here is the only frame showing ice. I-40 and north basically.
  21. I’m fully prepared for 32.4 degrees and rain in Randleman. (15 miles south of GSO) [emoji2359] .
