This winter has all the classic symptoms of a shut out. Hopefully we torch in March and put this thing behind us.

Mesos spitting out around 2 inches of rain tomorrow morning. Looks like some hefty downpours . Mattie Gs Daffodils and grass patch should get a good drink
Finally something interesting. This winter is about as interesting as our boring hot summers.

That's because we don't get snow anymore. Makes snow lovers grumpy.

And poof. That was fun to track for a week. I'm so bored with this winter. Hopefully next weekend juices up and at least gives us some heavy rain and flooding. I'm desperate for weather.

Anyway, Ava going 2-4 along PA line, 1-2 into Baltimore, less for those who live in the deserts like Crofton
Ok, good luck with that. Enjoy your inch of slop followed by a few chilly days, then another cutter (like I said 5 days ago).

So my question to the experts is whether the NAM is a red flag that the dry cold air will make this a nonevent?
This has been a nonevent for days.

How is the storm after this storm looking?
Cold and dry followed by more cutters that look like snow 10 days away.

aren't looking good for what? 6" snow? When did anything show that? As far as I can tell there is still a chance for some type of frozen precip. It was 70 last weekend. If I get sleet then its a win
I agree. I'd love that. Let's hope keep fingers crossed.

And its usually the one run that never has support before or after. The people that start flipping out should know better too. Of course things are going to move around. Its 3-4 days away. The only thing that locks in for that long is summer heat.
I hope I'm wrong but we all know how this goes. I've been here long enough. Sorry for the meltdown, mappy but I'm just pointing out what JI will be here shortly doing.

what? As far as I can tell, only the 00z Euro had that type of solution. Thats definitely not enough to say models are converging. Dial back the hyperbole a bit.
you aren't new here.
I've been here long enough to know when you're like this things aren't looking good.

It’s Tuesday. The storm is Saturday. That’s really all that needs to be said, especially when one has no faith in LR forecasting.
Friday night isn't long range. We have a good idea what it's doing. Models are converging on it going into Minnesota. That's a goner I'm afraid. As far as the LR. That's as reliable as the woolly worm lol
-
So, the weekend storm is flurries followed by drizzle and the cold pattern is 4 days slightly below average ahead of the next cutter. I'm starting to lose hope in the LR nonsense.

It's a goner. Then another cutter then cold/dry.

Where are the clouds? Did the rainstorm vanish?

Sunny warm day here. Another fantastic forecast.

What a surprise. Everything shifted NW of AA country. That never happens. I'll enjoy my cold rain today while I wait for summer to start this weekend.

Ummm.. it's been bad runs since before Christmas. Anyway. Looks like I can plant my cover crop I didn't have time to plant in the fall.

Justin Berk says winter arrives this weekend and looks cold for mid January. I stop paying attention to him years ago but find him hilarious.

0.30" rain today. About 0.85 past 2 days.
MD Rte 450 closed for under an inch of rain. (Flooding). Pitiful engineering SHA.
They close it for a little puddle. Closing it is just a way to waste our tax money. I live a mile from the puddle.
