Hrrr is definitely looking better for late tonight. I just applied some calcium rich top dressing on my tomato, cucumber, zucchini and squash plants. I hope this soaker takes shape. My veggies will love it.

A lot of stationary cells firing
Looks like another day of winners and losers.

I hope this fatty dropping through central MD doesn't weaken from the rain cooled air left behind from the first storms that missed me.

Everything has missed here all week also, despite storms very close by several times. Last evening a few drops fell in my yard but not enough to wet the pavement. Left shortly after to go to the store and the other end of my street had puddles. That’s a very near miss, lol.
HRRR has some more activity moving through later today and tonight. You still have a couple days left for solid rain chances.

This AA county storm finally raining itself out. 2.25" which will probably be on the low side of things once I see Cocorahs tomorrow.
It sat 5 miles west of me. I stood and watched the impressive fireworks it produced. The rain totals will be impressive. I hear my local fire department in the distance headed out. I'm willing to bet there's water rescues going on.

Can't believe how sweaty I am from getting the ATV's ready for the WV trip. It's like I just stepped out of a pool with my pants on.
I agree. Just stepped out for a late 420 session and broke a sweat just sitting there for 5 minutes. This is the only extreme type weather I don't like. Give me a high temp of 7 and a 50mph wind and I'm good.

Getting crushed. Storm blew up right over me and is just sitting over me dumping rain and throwing lightning bolts. Even had some wind and small hail. My corn is probably laying flat.

Loving this heat wave...it’s about time we have sustained 90s. I know, I know...unpopular opinion here.
It's so exciting. You must work in a climate controlled office lol

That sun is wicked. 88 at home. 87 at IAD. 84 with a river wind at DCA.
The sun is brutal this time of year. It's amazing how fast it dries the soil out in my garden. I'm using straw to fight that. Hopefully these storms make it into the DC area this evening.

I'm standing in my neighbors barn looking across his field to my SE at a ok lightning show. It's raining lightly as the lightning seems to be fading.

Even a June 4, 2008 would be more than fine. I can think of a bunch of events that would be acceptable.
20080604
20100725
20120629
20130613Ivan too of course.
I'm just being frustrated. I was excited about getting at least a nice thunderstorm at least a couple times this week. I've had enough showers to water my garden but nothing fun or exciting. I'd be cool with a nice lightning show at this point.

At this point I'm all for reshuffling the pattern. Anybody for NW flow/ring of fire pattern? I'm okay with 100 and humid if it produces CAPE of 6000 and a massive line of storms.
That happens like once every 50 years lol

I had a nice shower about an hour ago. My garden is exploding in growth. Tonight feels like one of those nights where you wake up to flashes of lightning and rumbling thunder.

Another day without even a drop. There is a storm firing 3 miles to my east right now. Maybe I'll get to hear a rumble of distant thunder!
I actually chuckled a little when I noticed that on radar a little bit ago lol. I'm watching what's going on out there for my area later on.
-
Radar is totally dead around the metro DC area. Looks like hrrr nailed it. The trash clouds around all day didn't help. Hopefully we see some activity pop locally.
-
Just a few miles south of my location has been getting crushed. I've had a soaker but nothing like where the rain train is just south of me. Looks like more storms on radar popping over same area.
-
Getting garden hose out again. These "wet days" sure have been drying my garden out.
-
Hrrr looks like a chance for a scattered afternoon thunderstorm. What happened to the organized complex? I hope this "wet period" doesn't end up a shower Wednesday night.
-
Nice soaking rain here this morning. It's been epic weather for gardening so far this season.
-
The "rain event" dropped a little over a half inch here. I figured I wouldn't be watering all week. After the wind and dry air today I'll be watering this evening. What a bust that was.

Okay it can start raining now...everything is crispy.
The radar says good luck with that.

Wasn’t expecting to wake up to mostly sunny skies lol
Me neither lol. Looks like a beautiful day on tap. This is typical of our "rainy days" this time of year. A rainy weekend ends up being a overnight shower. Glad I knew better and watered the garden.

Actually LWX is talking about flooding in their AFD this afternoon for Sundaybinto next week
I was just venting my frustration about not getting any rain. I did end up getting a nice little pop up heavy shower right over my garden. I hope some more stuff pops up this evening. I'd love some thunder and lightning.

Some fun stuff going on above my house at the moment. I'm right where the rain is streaming north into the main blob. It looks like an area of enhanced lift developing. The radar is starting to blossom.
