Today is the day we over perform but not by enough to get 100. Third straight 99 coming up.

Can't wait for our 33 and rain for days on end this winter.

78 but not as bad as yesterday morning.

It was a "your back yard" special. It quickly disintegrated.

Even in an epic heat wave with sinking air all over, you manage to score.

This summer has made up for the years of every summer storm missing me to the north by 5 miles. It's like a steamy jungle out near my corn stands. My garden is happy about the nearly .60" that fell just in my yard.

Back up to 94. DP is at least 80 if I had to guess. Maybe 82-83 about 45 minutes ago next to corn stand.

  3. Did it rain? Went in a took a nap around 2:30 with a clear radar. Got up at 4 and noticed windows fogged up. Went outside and noticed about a half in of rain in bucket and still a clear radar. Weird

Bust on my call. That’s why I stick to things I know. Beer and something

I gave up the beer and just smoke the "something" now lol.

Only 84 here with a decent breeze. Not looking forward to the garden stressing temps starting tomorrow. It will help my sweet corn get sweeter.

Third 50's low in a row, albeit, much like the DC current heat streak, weak. 59.8.

The DC heat streak is totally weak. It has actually been pretty nice so far this summer. That may change next week.

Disappointing here given how crazy the radar looked, but I guess there had to be some losers. Some people really cashed in. Seemed like parts of Anne Arundel and especially PG got hammered.

We've been getting hammered all summer. My area has had a pretty incredible amount of rain in the past month. I picked up 3" yesterday and overnight.

How miserable will it get if there is a major second wave (assuming we ever finish the 1st) in the fall/winter, the football season gets stopped, Thanksgiving then Christmas pretty much are ruined, and the long range guidance is correct and we get another non winter with no snow...because jokes aside all those events are probably odds on favorites to happen right now.

Models showing a non winter? That's fantastic! Big winter incoming.

  8. Best storm I've seen in a couple years while in Severna Park. It was about 3 when I noticed it building to my NNE. It moved south along the bay breeze boundary. It was really cool (because my gardens weren't being affected) Lots of lightning strikes, hail, super heavy rain and wind. The hail was impressive. It blasted holes in some zucchini plants i saw. Glad it didn't hit my garden.

  9. The haves and have nots is pretty amazing around here. I was out near Federalsburg today and it was dry as a bone. Corn was all curled. Got back to the jungle (my mini farm) just in time to get swamped by another storm. I got a little over a inch today. That's about 7.25" in 7 days. My corn is head high and starting to tassel. No curls here.

  10. Got home from work and was surprised to see just shy of 4" in my bucket. From radar I was estimating I got between 2.5-3".  I was worried about my corn lodging (falling over) with that much water in soil alone with the wind i hear we also had. Everything is fine thankfully. With growing crops it's surviving from storm to storm.

My stomach has been acting up the last three days which is very unusual for me. I looked up stomach soothing drinks and the closest thing we’ve got in the house is green chartreuse. Syrupy and generally nasty, but doing the trick on my stomach. And my head.

Medical marijuana works wonders on my chronic stomach issues. A couple puffs and 30 minutes later I'm ready to eat.

    Didn't last long here.

Total of 0.15" for the day.

Looks like and miss, pulse type showers in the afternoon and evening over the next few days until whats left of that low finally moves off to the NE.

That's about all I got here also. At least I didn't have to run the sprinklers for one evening.

Edit: just checked the rain bucket. Looks like little bit over half inch. Not bad.

I'm getting ready to call bust on the rain forecast.

Was it supposed to rain? HRR hardly had anything. I'll be running sprinklers this evening because it doesn't look like much rain any time soon.

Meanwhile, the 12z CMC is dry right through next Saturday.

I guess my sprinklers won't get a break next week after all. That little bit of rain i got yesterday didn't do much. Getting pretty dry here again.

  15. Looks like some scattered showers on radar this morning. Glad I ran the sprinklers on my corn last night. Only ended up with .05" from a shower overnight. HRRR gives my area east of DC more storms today. Not so much west of the city.

Do you water your lawn or other areas?  I tried last year watering the lawn and lost my ambition and suffered the consequences. This year I will let it go dormant and hope rains visit at least to keep the crown alive so in the Fall it may bounce back. I have 3/4 acres far too much to water. Even the front with 1/3 acre is too much to consistently water correctly.

And yes, the rainfall forecasts have trended drier.

I've got a 60×50' fenced in garden. I also have a 40×50' corn plot. The corn plots need consistent watering. I don't care about my grass. My corn is the only grass on property I care about lol.
