The maga front, like most of our weather was pretty lame. No flash freeze. Going from 55 to 34 over 7 hours won't do it lol. No wind and not very cold. Hopefully I get my 1" of snow HRRR is showing.

GFS/GEFS decided the vortex that’s been in the WPO domain west of AK is going to shift east into AK. If that’s true we’re toast.
Of course it's true. The models are deadly accurate when it comes to screwing us.

Wow! That's crazy. They look like text book perfect hook echoes.

What if it was more like a giggle?
What if I spit Deer Park spring water across the room through my nose?
57 and waiting on this blob of rain to my south. I haven't been impressed with my flooding tropical Christmas rain storm yet.

The wind is roaring right now. Must be gusting 40-50 mph.

Breezy overcast. Still almost no rain in Annapolis, as of noon.
Agrees with radar.
Doesn't look like we're going to be in the max precipitation area for the first time since July. Kind of a bust here. Doesn't look like we get anything for at least a couple more hours.

I'd be more concerned about the flash freeze potential IMO
I feel like that happens as much as cold chasing precipitation. Seems like the strong dry NW wind always dries the roads before it's able to freeze. Regardless.. at least this front will be interesting.

Man this has been a long winter so far
Didn't you get snow already? Here it's the same as last year. Plenty of mud and 45 degree temps. Last year was 55 with lots of mud. At least the mosquitoes aren't as bad this winter so far.

06z GFS is a White Christmas with highs in the 20s for most... teens in the mountains. 06z GFS would suggest rain Christmas Eve changing to heavy wet snow... ending Christmas morning. 4-8" of snow. A Christmas miracle indeed
Best post I've seen in a while. Almost sexy lol

Sounds like my girlfriend. What's it mean? White Christmas or 75 degrees?

I got light snow! I think I have more snow on the ground from this than from Wednesday’s storm. And it’s only a dusting. But it counts!
Same here. Better quality too. Nice and cold right now.

So... who mentioned snow? I walk by a window and out of the corner of my eye I see what looks like white on the sidewalk. I flip on an outside light and it's a damn winter wonder land lol. For a site that goes on 100 pages for some slush, how did I not see a mention of it here? I figured we'd be following this for days lol

Radar is fine. Lots of precip blossoming in NE TN and NW NC. There was nothing there this morning. All is going according to plan.
Oh good. I was worried my flood watch wouldn't verify.
28 degrees and waiting on my 5 minutes of slush followed by 2 more inches of rain.

I know we give NAM a lot of crap around here (poor thing) but it was the first to latch onto the inland track. We all laughed at it..”aw how cute look at the crazy old uncle 84H NAM doing NAM-like things...”.
Even uncle Larry can be right once in a while.
I said the same thing. NAM has the right idea soon as it was in range. Everyone laughed but I didn't. NAM is better then the EURO has been. Or how about the joke Canadian model lol.

We’re going to have plenty of opportunities. This one is tough to swallow for cities point SE, but it’s only mid December. Can tell already this winter will produce.
You must be new to the area lol

The history books don't lie. Climo never liked this storm in my area. Just another 2" flooding rain here.

Everyone bust on the NAM. After looking over the past 12 hours of runs it seems to me it had the right idea all along. It was the most west of the models. Seems like everything trended to the NAM. The NAM is mean because it called it right lol

F this storm already. I’ve got my eyes firmly on the big Christmas rainer.
That's how i feel. This is just like the past 6 months. Flooding rain every 3 days. Just colder flooding rain now.

I'm not sure. Unfortunately my rain gauge froze and cracked. I'd estimate probably 2"+. That never fails here.
