HRRR has this but dries out as it moves east
I still don't hate the radar.

You were fortunate. It hit 90F everywhere else.
So... is it actually raining there? Or is it completely vaporized as it nears the burning surface?

Radar doesn't look terrible

I'm hearing a lot of thunder to my south. At least I have the thunderstorm vibe while I'm hooking up the watering system for the upcoming scorched earth pattern.

I'm craving a Bermuda High...hope next week's forecast is legit. We're overdue for a true summer. So far, this spring has essentially been a long, drawn out October.
What are you talking about lol. Overdue for what? True summer? DC does summer better then any other season.

Feels pretty humid. I have a hard time believing the dews drop into the low 50's. We just don't do dry heat that good, especially here in the lowlands alone the bay. I just want to have a thunderstorm vibe this evening.

SLGT risk extended for far N/W burbs tomorrow.
Hopefully we can get some rain before we bake.

Wooo showers? Looks like those showers are starting to develop.

I can tell a big difference from my house where we had an isolated storm drop an inch of rain and the area I hike that missed it. Anyway.. were all getting ready to get baked dry for the next few months. I remember thunderstorms developing almost every afternoon. It doesn't seem to happen in our new climo.

No Tornado watch on Wednesday... I had 4 around me... Severe Thunder Storm watch on Thursday... nothing but partly cloudy skies.
I wish they didn't drop the ball so bad on Wednesday. I would of chased those tornadic storms. By the time it was apparent we were having an outbreak I would of never had time to get in a good position.

I lucked out and got under basically the only action out there. I picked up a little over an inch in about 20 minutes. Perfect for the garden.

A bit over 0.4” with the first round. Hopefully more later. Really would like a solid 1”+ with not much forecasted after tomorrow for another week.
I thought I saw talk of endless cutoff lows and gulf lows. Anything to delay the heat is fine with me.

Just a little shower here. I hope there's more later or I'll be watering the garden this evening.

Well certainly not for severe - but sometimes we can get a strong(ish) round and then some follow-up heavy rainers that keep dropping rainfall.
I'm excited about multiple rounds of lightning. I took off today (I'm the boss) in hopes of catching a couple shows this afternoon. I like Bacon Ridge in Crownsville for a viewing spot.

My weed and vegetable plants aren't happy this morning. Only 51 here.

Radar looks better now than it did yesterday at this time. Sneaky storm treat this afternoon around DC possibly.

Absolutely horrific sound woke my wife and I up at 445. Sounded like an animal being tortured to death. I think now it was a female fox in heat?
Lol yes. I was walking my neighborhood the other night (very wooded area) and suddenly I hear what sounds like a demon screaming bloody murder about 200 feet into the woods. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up lol

Looks like some suss around Glenn Dale. This thing is winding up to slap my area. Big gust coming through the forest.

Lovely stormy evening. Classic nighttime thunderstorm vibe.

I've been standing on Bacon Ridge watching this thing develop for the past 90 minutes. The entire western sky is now looking pretty ominous. It was beautiful about 45 minutes with the towers rising and the sun shining on them.

Setup trended less favorable as we got closer. More progressive troff weaker low and multiple waves. Wondering if we'll even see anymore rain.
I was banking on rain this weekend. My area has had no beneficial rain in a while. This looks like a dude. Not even any rain.

The sun is starting to break out here. As soon as it did the SE winds really ramped up. It definitely feels warmer than it did 20 minutes ago. I'm ready for my wedge.

We have a whole summer of storms ahead. No reason to root for severe on Memorial Day when so many of us have plans to be outside. I’m hoping for dry, peaceful, and maybe even a few peeks of sun.
Boring. I was hoping for a grid demolishing line of terror ripping through around dinner time. But, I'm cool with my garden getting watered by a boring rain shower also lol
