Movie theaters open up today.  Might have to catch a flick . Pick up a box of dots and Sneak in a couple IPAs

Yup. And governor gives ok for school to fully open. Just ordered another 20 pack of N95 mask.

This watch definitely isn’t warranted for most of the area. Big time bust on that enhanced risk today

I have a hard time getting excited about severe. I've said it many times. I've seen actual severe weather here like twice in my 41 years. We do better with slow moving flooders with lots of lightning.

  3. Just another 4"+ twenty four hour period here in the tropical rainforest of AA county. Looks like 4.10" since last evening. Almost 3 of those inches fell this morning. I've never seen it this swampy and nasty in my life. Mosquitoes are insane.

You inspired me to dump the gauge. 2.90" for last night. I wouldn't be surprised if you have a bit more. My electric gauge had 3.76, but in summer there's lots of tree interference on that Davis, and it can't be trusted.

Yeah. I got 7.20" from the tropical storm and 2.85" last night. I said near 10" because I figured the trees might of interfered a little.

Nothing at all after two days of flood watches.  Good thing I got 1.85" from Isaias because I think yesterday was the last chance for rain for a long time.

My point and click has rain chances most of next week. I haven't been out to check how much fell last evening but I'd estimate 3". Close to 10" in 4 days.

  6. Sitting out here watching the clouds start rolling in from the south. Bit of a breeze kicking up in the past few minutes as well. Weird vibe out here. Birds seems rather quiet. Something is definitely on the horizon.

Sounds like you need some artificial drainage there. It literally cannot rain enough here in the summer. Soil is super well drained on the "upland" part of my property where the house/lawn is.

Lots of clay and organic material in this western shore soil. I actually added a bunch of sand to my garden soil this year. Really helped the drainage issue. I've been on the winning side of the thunderstorm rains this season.

Nothing overnight.  It's so dry here I am even doubting the big rain they are advertising for Tuesday.

It's so swamped here that I'm positive about the big rain on Tuesday. Been a swamp here all summer. I'm not complaining and I hope I get crushed.

Feels and looks tropical out there. 81/76

Don’t we always fail at game time ?

Radar looks good to me. At least for my area. I've got fogged up windows and 88 degrees outside. Our climo is flexing it's tropical muscle.

I started a new crop 2 weeks ago and they are sprouting...Im a little behind.  I was really trying to see how long I could keep them producing by picking regularly and pruning here and there.

Have you ever tried a second cucumber crop?  I planted a few when I started the squash but dont know if I am wasting my time or not with them.  Never tried a second round of cukes....

Yup. A second cucumber crop is doable. I start it around July 4th also.

After a prolific crop of zucchini and yellow squash so far this season I had to pull all of them out of the ground yesterday.  I thought the few yellowing leaves were just a sign of the heat and entering the latter part of summer.  Then they really started going downhill....after a close inspection I found vine borers had already done too much damage to try to salvage the plants.

Not too bent out of shape about it but it does frustrate me that I didnt pick up on it earlier.  The family is pretty sick of squash by now but I hate losing plants like that.....its always something.

On a side note...we are not big fried food people but I did make some fried zucchini sat evening.  Turned out great but the show was stolen when I threw in some of the refrigerator pickles that I made about a week ago.  Some ranch dipping sauce and a ripe IPA...that was dinner!

Totally normal. I plant a second crop around July 4th. Old plants are done but new ones are looking great. I'll start picking that batch in a couple weeks.

  12. Radar suddenly lit up all around the DC area. It's been a strobe light here with loud thunder and rain since it got dark. Looks like a loud night ahead. I love these kind of summer nights.
