1.20" so far. Super steady all day long. The radar is looking impressive. The low pressure is developing nicely. I can see the trees outside my windows getting blown around.
I hope that area moves over the lowlands this evening and overnight. I like the NAM 3k for a lowland special. It likes the flatlands too. 2-3" by tomorrow.
I can't remember the last time it rained this steady. It's been raining the same intensity ever since it started. Raindrop production must be great because the drops have been big ever since it started.
.90 with steady moderate rain. I feel for the nw crew.
We're starting to see the creeks running and standing water. I think the south river watershed area is going to get some water backing up. I'm headed into Bacon Ridge this afternoon to document the conditions.
HRRR looks great for most of MD. It clobbered PG and AA County. Models have had a pretty good idea all week. I understand the frustration in your comment. I hope your backyard floods too.
I've always loved watching a low developing on radar. The blossoming has begun. It does look DC and east are favored to my weenie eye. I perfer Annopoils over Westminster.
Edit: Now that the precipitation field matured a little it looks like everyone is going to get hit.
They have. So far everything looks ok. I'll find out once it warms up how much damage they received. A few miles to my east it never made it below freezing.
It's been a long time since we've seen a good coastal storm. The euro looks like a potential drought buster. As usual.. the heaviest as of now looks to be along the bay and Eastern Shore. I'm sure this thread will do great lol.
I guess it was just delayed. Pouring, and the radar looks great for DC and S&E. Looks like I'm working in the rain today. Oh well. I get wet anyway (we wash residential and commercial buildings).
It will be interesting to see rain actually make it into the area. I've been watching it miss us to the north for a week. It hasn't been easy to get rain into the area for the past year. Models seem to like 1-2" today and tonight.
