Weird we get a cold weather warning for temps in the mid 20's during the day and no wind. Is this something new? Never noticed it before. What's next.. boring weather warning lol
Low 14
I was up in Ellicott City about 90 minutes when a intense squall moved through. It drop a dusting of snow. Temp was 26 there. 27 here in Crofton. It's a beautiful winter day.
Beautiful! We've had quite the January here in the lowlands and across the flatlands. We just need another couple minor events to reach climo. You might be just about climo there.
I just looked at my point and click. What happened to extreme cold. They raised temps by about 10 degrees over what it showed 2 days ago. Looks like a typical cold shot. Nothing record breaking. Models way overdue cold. Where's my -2. It's now 11. Wow lol
Once a storm starts i turn everything off. No radar, no JI complaining ect. I spend the afternoon hiking. It rained most of the afternoon but once it flipped it because beautiful very quickly. Only about a half inch but it frosted everything. On to the next.
Sun trying to break out. Snow eating fog, drizzle, and rapid snow melt. At this point I know I'm screwed but need the temp to drop to preserve what I have remaining.
We had a good run together. Me and my beloved snowpack are just history. I'll always remember the way it was when it tickled my nose when it showed up, and would dry up before heading nw. Ahhhh.. the good ole days.
I wasn't expecting to lose my snowpack today. I've got snow eating fog, rapid snow melt, drizzle and warm temps. I was planning a hike but it's so nasty I think I'll wait.
I'm super frustrated like I always get when it rains but I'm watching that too. We could see some silver dollar flakes that paste everything. A paste job followed by cold to freeze in in place so we have a mythical scenery for a couple days would be a win.
It was brutal in here yesterday. Anyone that mentioned these models got their head ripped off. I was thinking the whole time. "What if it's correct" lol. The rule is always follow the model with the worst outcome. You'll be right 90% of the time. I'm losing more snow today than gaining lol
I was hoping we wouldn't just get a miserable rain all day. I rather have nothing. I'm planning a hike but rather not be wearing rain gear and sweating.
Up to 40 lol
I thought about that too bit the ride home can be depressing lol. I'm headed to my favorite local spot in Crownsville for a day hike. I'll be turning my phone off. No radar, no board, just me and whatever happens.
