From Mount Holly AFD.. Nice. If you like fall weather, next week is the week for you. Following the cold frontal passage on Tuesday, several days of near to slightly below seasonable temperatures and mainly dry weather are expected. The large scale pattern will be dominated by deep upper level low pressure over New England, which will slowly drift south- southeast through the week. Strong ridging will be present over the Great Lakes and Midwest. Despite the close proximity of the upper low, it is unlikely to be a problem for us, with a lack of moisture and forcing over the mid-Atlantic preventing rainfall. However, the low will serve to keep away the anomalously warm air associated with ridging to our west, which at least for the time being will prevent any resurgence of summer-like air.

Ravens will be without 4 starters on the D-line due to COVID, in addition to all the other injuries, against Detroit. They have good depth though, and Detroit is a pretty crappy team right now, so no excuses to not win this game, even on the road. Only sloppy play will prevent a win.

A classic omega block is setting up this week with a high amplitude ridge to the west and the northeast under an upper low that looks to close off. Models vary on exact location and strength as the week progresses. Overall looks like NE flow regime with cool temps from Wed onward, with a mixture of sunny and cloudy periods, and maybe some shower chances, but most of the precip appears to stay offshore. Latest GFS brings some decent showers through late Tuesday with a shortwave as the trough over the NE digs southward. Who knows how things evolve towards next weekend with any tropical influence from the Atlantic- doesn't look like much at this juncture.

Picked up a 4 pack of KBS Espresso yesterday. Really looking forward the the Utopias barrel-aged WWS, due out next month. Hopefully in a week or 2. I missed the initial release of it last year.
