It was fine during my commute...just cloudy. I can't believe how light traffic has been this week....its like the holidays still. Must be big numbers out due to covid. The one redeeming part of the pandemic.

That’s basically the 1-3” snowfall we were just discussing.
At least most of it remains south of me.

And if that doesn't milk your prostate like it does his, then he'll lecture you on the 80s, as if he's more than two years older lol

The last thing I want is a 1-3" consolation reach around from mother nature....if I can't get a half decent storm, just save me the gridlock on the commute. I don't want status quo...either trend better, or c-ya.

I like the RGEM a lot. Definitely in the top 3 at 48 hours. The ICON is useful for trends. I wish they would release a hi-res version of the ICON like they have in Europe.
I think it's a preemptive defense mechanism to shit on the only hand that is feeding us right now

Oh yeah, I don't trust it, but sometimes it sniffs out some amped solutions like the NAM does from time to time.
Yep.

So, Do you wipe first with the RGEM or the Nam?
NAM...I use the RGEM to touch up the dingle berry stragglers that hang on for dear life.

Because we had a ton of winters where we got buried. Time to pay up.
I don't think I have five consecutive stinkers on record...would be something if this year and next year blow. Not even the 80s or 50s pulled that off.

Well, 18z EPS looked solid.

It was right in the storm Feb 1/2 last year with getting good precip up to me and @dryslot. We were tracking the RGEM closely in that one.
I was being sarcastic, but its definitely the NAM's Canadian cousin.

it's not. most of this subforum will enjoy its 1-3" for the third time this year. hoorah.
Count me in the "not worth the extra half hour of commuting" camp.

I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be. It’s the first mode run of better sampled data and it looks like complete garbage. I know it’s easy to brush it off as the Nam, but it’s still definitely not great
Yes.
If the rest of the 00z suite doesn't stray from it, then anything other than a nuisance is on life support IMO...still give it until 12z for confirmation.

i will say, there's a fallacy here - the NAM has 6 hours on the "current" Euro. my point is, I'd like to see the whole 0z suite
Totally agree. I think its concerning.

When the EPS and NAM differ like that, I wonder who’s side I would take?
Granted NAM, but I don't like seeing that as the energy is getting sampled.

Very few people drive or commute to work anymore . It’s a new era. 75% of people now either work from home full time or 3-4 days a week . So the commuting issues are in large part over. Unless you’re an essential employee. And if you happen to be in that minority where you work for a company or role that you can do from home , but they are forcing you to come in everyday. Get out
Depends...I'm a social worker...I need to see people. Judging from the traffic on I93, alot more than 25 percent still commute in.

Same...looks like the western EPS members.
Tracking Jan 7 coastal storm. Lingering compression/flow velocity has not lent to consensus, but it seems at 30 hours out.. finally?

By the time I was done lifting and home, it was 9 and I was spent. Was in rare form last night, but looks like my first call map may still have a shot.
