  1. If all goes according to plan, I should be back in PA on May 28th. You all better get that cold weather out of there before my arrival...lol
  2. lol...no pic. I bet he took serious online shit and took it down.
  3. All this cold rain talk is making me want to stay in Arizona...lol
  4. Add Tamaqua to the 89 club. I guess my wife brought some of the Arizona heat back with her...
  5. Caught this horizontal, across the sky lightning bolt last night in front of my house after surprise storms hit the northern and western parts of the Phoenix metro area.
  6. Yeah, open areas and high elevations had problems. Tamaqua, however, sits in a protected, upside down, V shaped valley. From my house, I could hear the non-stop roar of the wind on the hilltops surrounding the borough. Yet, even though there was widespread damage and power failures all around us, we came through virtually unscathed. There was very little damage in the borough proper, and while the power flickered a few times, the lights stayed on during the entire event. Even standing outside, there were few wind gusts, let alone sustained high velocity wind. It was more like a normal, breezy, post FROPA day/night, as opposed to a post tropical hurricane.
  7. If she's gonna drink, you should make the day double interesting and let HER drive the golf cart...
  8. If there's one thing I lack, it's good judgment...
  9. Came close to 100 yesterday here in the desert. The wife and I went shopping yesterday afternoon, and when she got out of the Jeep she goes, "it's suckin' hot out here"...lol
  10. That happened to us at an Iron Pigs game a few years back. It was a hot upper 80s day. About the 3rd inning a cold front with a hell of a storm blew through. After they resumed play, the temps were in the low 60s with a good wind from the NW that blew from left field.
  11. I would be lying if I said I didn't think of this scenario a few times. I some ways, I'm somewhat hoping she has a miraculous change of heart and wants to move here. It pains me a bit to have to sell my parents' home that they lived in and loved these past 25 years. It really is a nice house, and one filled with quite a few memories for me of them enjoying the lifestyle of the southwest desert. But, at some point most of us end up faced with this dilemma.
  12. It's going to be one here, too. High of 95 today and 98 tomorrow. My wife comes in today, so she's in for a weather shock when she comes out of the airport...lol.
