BooneWX
This storm is wicked. It looked like a spaceship arriving and then boom. Dark as night with the street lamps on. Absolutely dumping rn.

calculus1
Excellent shots!Your spaceship description was spot on. It had those low white wispy clouds out front and then just dark, dark, blue grey behind. The wind and rain were both fierce. I ended up with 1.01 inches this morning. According to NWS, more to come this afternoon/evening…
BooneWX
No water restrictions being lifted anytime soon for Catawba Valley residents. The one metric that’s holding us back is the 6 month streamflow average. Seems like a flawed metric imo. The 6 month average is going to be harshly skewed by the streamflow at the height of the drought so it seems like it may be the first of next year before restrictions are lifted despite whatever fall brings. calculus1
Sitting in my drive for the past 15 minutes because it has been raining so hard, and I don’t wanna make a break for it. Pea size hail, too! First hail I have witnessed this year. Eager to see the gauge totals when I get inside.
