Were definitely trending in the right direction moisture wise for late tonight and tomorrow. Maybe we can get on the board for a change. Were overdue is a understatement. Good luck to all and especially the foothill crew.

Even NWS GSP mentions “the northwest trend” for tomorrow. I think that gives relevance to it being “a thing”, in general, not just for tomorrow.

I’ve got wet ground here also, but my ring gauge didn’t pick up anything which is strange because it generally will pick something up…

Looking at the latest SREF, it didnt trend west compared to 3Z but it beefed up amounts just east of most of us

Sref plumes are up to a mean of around 1.3” at KHKY. My gut says a slushy half an inch tomorrow but that’d be a hell of a victory after watching this storm run away from us.

We need another 75-100 mile trend west to get into the good stuff.

There’s also a slim chance but a non-zero chance nonetheless that we hit a boom scenario of 2-4”. All it’s going to take is that front getting a little hung up in the mountains and that axis of heaviest moisture will be over us, not the piedmont.

Nice to see some reports of a flizzard this morning. It was a sweet pinging of sleet I heard as I’m working. I still expect to see a flizzard Sunday and it’s nice not to have to gather up flashlights for the black construction paper in order to document it
