12z GFS is interesting for Friday. Just need to get the precip cranking… temps are fine everywhere but the surface so it would fall as snow. -
Wish I could make it out this go but seems like to get the full event you’d have to leave tonight - showing up Friday afternoon might mean it’s all over. Don’t know about all of you, but Jebwalking in actively falling snow is the highlight. I’ll see if I can get some pity flakes on Friday!

It’s early season hope but it is cold enough Friday morning. If we can keep inching this thing south, I wonder if folks closer to the metro could find a dusting. I forget every year that 3-4 days is a long time… we’ve lost plenty in that window for sure.

00z GFS grants us Snow TV on Friday morning. It also says you might want to consider a slightly further jog to Scranton if you are chasing this one. Keeps moving the 30” jackpot zone in the NE further southwest run after run. Doesn’t seem to be affecting the mountain snow much.

Ah, to be looking at the 84hr NAM. I missed you, old friend. Couple inches along the MD/PA border for N Central MD. Mountains crushed.

I tried weathermodels for 2 days before realizing I missed WxBell too much. Price is higher than I’d like but I like knowing the navigation and find it relatively easy to navigate on my phone, too. Pivotal isn’t my favorite layout for the non-paid, maybe paid helps though.

12z (which must start running earlier now) EURO backs off a bit, but general idea still holds.

Verbatim 06z Euro drops a few inches in favored spots Friday morning. Gets flakes down to DC. It’s been a subtle trend in that direction starting with yesterday’s runs but maybe we can get lucky and have it continue.

GFS wants mood flakes for northern MD folks on Friday. Helps crank the mountain snow a bit more, too.

EURO seems to suggest rain/snow showers Thursday night, which tracks with the NWS. Mountains still look to get a foot over a few days… very tempting.

Good to know… I always imagine the real mountain cabins up some winding road that the county doesn’t plow. I’m a paranoid guy

My (maybe ignorant) worry about booking a mountain cabin is always getting out. Not a lot of experience in snow driving and no clue what the plow situation is. I’m sure you never really get stuck, lol, but it’s something I think about

I probably ask this every year - but anyone using weathermodels these days over weatherbell? The former is just substantially cheaper - may have to give it a go this year. I know Pivotal also basically offers everything for free but it's not my favorite layout or color palette.

Guess it isn't surprising but GEFS follows the OP on 00z and 06z and really honks on the WV/MD mountains for snow next weekend. EPS is a lot more muted (but trending up), so not booking anything yet!
