    At this point the modeling is fairly clear that a thump between 2-6pm is about all the folks inside the Beltway can root for. No point in panicking until that does or doesn’t happen is my view.

    Honestly waking up to a storm thread in a panic mode on storm morning cause of temps is almost nostalgic lol. Imagining this happening on a Tuesday, school’s being closed, and seeing everyone wake up to nothing (even though that was the forecast) and worrying about temps is great.

    Youch… 40 degrees down where I’m at in Nelson County.. LWX hated this event here and they are probably right… would like to see flakes but just about waving the white flag on accumulation. Maybe I can drive to Skyline…

    I think the 3k (& @Ellinwood’s map) have this one pretty nailed… widespread 2-3” with more for favored zones. I don’t trust the 15/20:1 kuchera ratios except for those spots, even then maybe.

    Every time it snows it’s worth it… the 0.5” I got yesterday was wondrous. Least you ain’t at risk of getting shut out in your location… and ya didn’t miss 1/6. I’ve still only seen like 1” of snow fall this year lol, a streak which may continue

    I think it’s really just showing that double-banding structure that some have alluded to. Kuchie gives more blue.

    3k is good... calling BS on the SW region snow cutoff that NWS is showing. Just not supported in any guidance beyond the way-amped stuff. Is a flag that the 10:1 sometimes better than kuchera down there.

    pretty clear signal for wave 1, 2, and even kinda 3... not that anything looks uber impressive.
