  1. Good news out of Maine has not been due to their strict adherence to social distancing I can tell you that. Nowhere has been more packed with fewer masks than Maine bars aka restaurants ( ) the last month plus. Latitude FTW
  2. They've been terrible down here this year. Much worse than last year actually. Hoards of em.
  3. I tried to find some Ballast Point Sculpin but apparently it's all back ordered. Green Flash cans are not a bad option in the meantime. Was a So Cal like afternoon once we mixed out, pretty sweet.
  4. CEF dewpoint went from 59 to 70 in one hour this evening. Bizarre. Sprinkler?
  5. Have to agree. Drunken Rabbit in S Hadley has a nice patio and new West Coast IPA that's pretty decent. Have been craving some west coast IPA... and an open establishment to consume it.
  6. If you're proceeding from Treehouse north and west eventually to 91 you might consider hitting up Brick and Feather in Turners Falls. Or going north to Stone Cow if it's a weekend afternoon evening for barbeque and beers.
  7. Not sure any largemouth in history has hit the 30" mark. Maybe a long skinny carp?
  8. NW flow events >>> SW flow events
  9. Have fam out there... every time I visit in the summer it seems like we're getting some kind of nice dryish canadian airmass coming over the lake with a couple diurnally driven high based thunderstorms. Pleasant. And on the high end they're capable of a decent tor here and there, including an F4 on the same day as the Wheatland tornado 5/31/85. Then there's the always the chance of 6-8' in the winter in a week.
  10. perfect base builder... dense and heavy, covers stuff up
  11. a little storm action here, but nothing terribly exciting
  12. This tool has some selectable options for different sites and days with high temps over 90 http://vt-data-fixture-nescaum-ccsc-dataservices.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/data-fixture/?c=Temp/stn/tx90/ANN/USH00431081/
  13. It's kind of fun to get a little tropical process precip. Very distinct.
  14. Catastrophic tree damage this area, even worse N Quabbin.
  15. one of those fully embedded spinups with super low LCLs maybe
  16. Obviously it's a long ways off, but it is kind of fun to play around with the online hysplit model to get a read on airmass advection
  17. No bluff at Head of the Meadow. High bluff ends just south of the parking lot of the townside beach, with the National seashore beach (of the same name) adjacent to the north. Entry is an easy up and over a small dune.
  18. you must like sh*t tons of people and shuttle buses The dune rises sharply north of Coast Guard. It's a lot more scenic, far fewer people, with the same surf basically from Nauset Light up to about Longnook. North of there the surf does change a little bit as the coastline curls around, though it can still be ok through Head of the Meadow where the dunes basically end. Race Point is flat surf all the time, but still scenic and good fishing.
  19. Was out there swimming at Head of the Meadow yesterday. Saw a pretty nasty looking jellyfish that caught my attention. As for the sharks we accept the risk and maintain awareness...
  20. Cape ocean beaches were in the 60s with a stiff S breeze and OVC for most of the day. A few brief breaks of sun but I didn't see a single person out swimming.
  21. GFS went nuts last run with the moisture handling for Sunday. BML had a dp of 66 at 00z, 50 at 06z. And east of the front dews spike to 70 in RI and SEMA. It's no wonder it's putting out lousy wx for Sunday on the coast, which to be fair, it's had for a few runs in a row now. Hoping its wrong. Nammy looks a little more realistic with a diffuse front, hung back a little bit, and some remaining subsidence on the coast behind the departing wave offshore.
  22. As far as cloud watching goes the last 4 days have been epic around here
