  1. Welcome to the 1st day of Meteorological winter! 29F here currently. Could be a good leaf blowing/raking day. Eta - do your thing RTD208 - Ralph saved it for you :-).
  2. Aww man I lost my primary pile Sunday night. Still have a smidge of a pile mixed with leaves under some trees.
  3. If Ralph is correct you may get both. Could happen but let's hope not, lol.
  4. 0.90" total here, 9.70" for the month. 48F and dark currently.
  5. Could put mby over 10" for November, currently at 8.80" after last night.
  6. How sensitive would it be? Could you pick up drizzle for example? I read that the largest raindrop size is usually less than 1 cm.
  7. Ok, thanks! Probably make a good sleet detector too, which might come in handy in the middle of the night this winter unless it's windy. I'll put it on the to do list, lol.
  8. Rain has stopped here, 2.40" total, impressive little bugger!
  9. I found one for about 1300$. Not in the budget at the moment though.
  10. 2.07" so far here, with a little bit more to go. Turned out to be a vigorous little system just off the coast.
  11. Haven't been paying attention the past few hours, just looked at the rain gauge and 1.75" of rain since mid afternoon. Looked at the radar and no wonder. That's 8.15" for November and counting. Yikes!
  12. Still have some snow piles here too, although they might be gone in 2 or 3 days with the warmth and heavy rain in the forecast. I'll take snow and ice on Christmas Eve, thanks.
  13. Wow the temperature here has gone up 10 degrees in the last 2 hours, from 30 to 40F. Feels almost balmy out. The overnight low was 23F.
  14. 15 was the low here under a full moon. 23F currently.
  15. Thanks, you too! Did not see the moon itself last night, but it was sure lighting things up around 3 am. Currently 24F here.
  16. Thanks Ralph you too, and everyone. Prolly get the fireplace going tomorrow night!
  17. Okay thanks! That makes this year different, as far as enso goes. No two winters are the same regardless, but I like that.
  18. It's dense but I figured about 2 weeks, so probably.....
  19. What was 1989-90 as far as ENSO? That one left a mark on me apparently, lol. (So did October 2011).
  20. Here is the snow pile yesterday shortly after things changed over to rain. I mentioned in October that the critters here have been going to town eating this fall - the squirrels in particular are looking pretty husky. Apparently the Squirrel Weather Network has the goods...not sure if the call was for an early snow or a long winter. Hopefully both .
  21. Nice - 1989 was 4" of dry powder on Thanksgiving Eve here but after mid December that winter was pretty meh. This year feels different so we'll see. Yesterday we got 4.6" and it took a serious beating from over an inch of rain last night but we still have 2 or 3" on the ground in most spots, along with a boatload of leaves. Quite the storm especially for November!
  22. It occurred to me that I may have misread the tone of your post, so it's cool that you replied. And we're all for maximum snow, except for maybe Voyager, but he has to drive large heavy trucks in it so we give him a pass. Here's hoping! How did you do yesterday?
  23. So I wonder if the NWS has taken into account the snow cover for the forecast temps over the next couple of days or if we'll knock a couple degrees off of our forecast highs and lows, especially with the relatively low sun angle.
