  1. Since I'm posting pics, had to show the White Magnolia, about in full bloom, also about 2 weeks early this year. Been warmer than normal, but kind of a slow roll early spring, so thankfully so far so good. You can smell it from 100 feet away if you're downwind of it. Smells great!
  2. A pic from afterwards, sizes ranged from about 1/4" to 7/16" more or less. Ate one just because :-).
  3. Lots of hailstones bouncing on the lawn here - pretty cool!
  4. Almost continuous ctc lightning (or thunder at least) here ahead of this incoming line. 58F currently.
  5. How was it? Looked like it popped up over the river...
  6. A lot of ctc lightning here, nice orange blob on the doorstep to the west. Currently 48F.
  7. 1st mow today, probably the 1st March mow since we've been here (9 years). Green feng shui either way :-)....
  8. Some light wet snow just started here - 39F, DP 28F. Yay snow!
  9. Had a few flakes mixed in here too, so it didn't go by unnoticed at least.
  10. Heard peepers last night, and had our 1st groundhog sighting yesterday. Nice today, 55F and sunny, with a little bit of wind.
  11. Don't know about elsewhere, but it's been pretty windy here at times tonight. Forecast was for 10-15 mph winds but there had to be gusts up to 25 or 30. We had a kettle fire tonight and the wind in the trees was roaring at times.
  12. I can handle the cold as long as there's snow involved, otherwise at this point, 40's at least would be fine. Today was real nice.
  13. Spring fever is in the air! 43F here so far.
  14. Looking forward to 40's and sunny here, for outside work! Made it to 24F here, currently 31F.
  15. I remember Jan. 1987 and Jan. 1978 particularly for 2 or 3 northeasters in a row, and Elliot on at 25 after the hour I think when he would do a synoptic discussion of what was going on, and why it would start as snow and then change to rain with 2 to 4" in the NW suburbs before the changeover. And in both years the last storm didn't changeover until we had like 11". That was pretty cool. I really enjoyed the in depth discussions. Might have had it at 55 after the hour as well, not sure though.
  16. In 1977 they had an icebreaker come up the Delaware, lol. The ice was 2 feet thick I believe. 1994 I call the ice winter - icicles hanging in trees for days, and my yard looked liked it had 3" of liquid ice poured over it. Amazing, you could even see the grass underneath in spots. I remember rolling blackouts due to high power consumption, which surprised me for wintertime.
  17. Is that like the draft, if we finish poorly this year we get a high draft pick next winter? Haha...
  18. You're right, I know of 2 at least, Vikings - Giants and Vikings - Eagles in December 2010.
  19. I got up to 8F and a blizzard warning that Sunday morning, with 4" on the ground. It would have been pretty amazing. Apparently the NFL has never rescheduled a game due to snow.
