I've seen a couple of distant flashes here as well, but not close enough for thunder. Radar looks interesting, and winds are picking up a bit in gusts.

I think the gefs are still based off of the old GFS model, if so we'll probably see more of this.

Don't know anyone down there. Like you said, a gutter guy or maybe someone that does chimney pointing, etc, might be a fruitful direction to go....or a carpenter who dabbles in roof/gable work....good luck! -

1.50" on the dot here. Had a series of storms forming just south of here starting around 2:30 pm. A fair amount of lightning off and on over a 2 hour period, then when the main line came through, nasomuch. Active and interesting! Looking forward to lower dewpoints.

Got about 10 raindrops per square foot earlier, looks like that may be it. Cooling off nicely now.

Currently 86 here, dp is 64. Exactly the same as this time yesterday. Actually just realized today that my basic weather station is not functioning, hmmm.
