I was close yesterday but it was really only really warm from like 3-7. Once the sun went down, it really cooled off quick. Needed a light blanket overnight with the windows open. started getting uncomfortable around 11 today though. I know I drive my girlfriend crazy with how I use it but I just feel like it isn’t worth the power use unless it’s going to stay on for 3+ days. She’s always of the mind of if it’s hot just turn the damn thing on

Yeah I like it like a walk in refrigerator inside, when I've been working outside in the heat, but it about doubles my electric bill during the summer, so I'm trying to find a balance in there.

I think it's because we're more distant from that sweet, sweet oceanic moderation. Higher highs and lower lows. Also we've got some hills around which, in certain circumstances, can almost create a sort of "bowl", not to mention the heat island effect from the city itself. I think the last two contribute to why rain storms so frequently part ways around us. It happens way too often for it to be pure chance.

It makes sense these days with the flow off the ocean as it's been lately...plus I've been watering a lot, lol.

I wasn't home at the time, but my wife said it was lovely. Felt nice and cool for a little bit. It's now bright, sunny and 94.

Fair enough! What's up with Reading and the heat? You are almost always higher than here (SW Delco) when it gets hot. And it's not just your location. Made it to 93F here, currently 86. No rain drops though.

Made it up to 97F today. Now down to 93F currently. I was trying to not turn on the central AC since it’s going to cool down tomorrow but I gave in at 2 pm.

I turned mine on yesterday around 3 pm - made it to June 1st anyway. Should get a rest for a few days.

I was actually surprised it even showed returns up this far north as it had originally been progged for the Delmarva.

I so still only got a hundredth of an inch but it was still enough going much of the day to wet the streets and walks and plants. I finally got a bucket tip between 1 - 2 pm (radar snapshot below).  The line from the cold front is very slowly sagging south but the dews are still up (64 here with temp 70) so it hasn't moved through.

Guess we hit the jackpot here, with 0.10". Still dry under the trees though. Got a smidge of sun right before it settled below the horizon. Nice evening.

  6. Saw a couple of lightning bugs tonight! Pretty amazing, every year for the last 5 years (at least) there's been one or two showing up way early, hanging around for a couple of weeks, then they go away and a few days later (the last week of May) the main show starts up. Not sure how that works, but it's been consistent. 61F currently.

  7. Just got clipped by some heavier rain during that pivot. 1.9" so far today, may wind up being close to the total since there's not much west or south of here at the moment. I imagine most of that inch or so we got in the last hour plus just ran off. The ground is pretty saturated - thats 5.4" going back to last Saturday, and 3.65" this weekend. Getting breezy at the moment.

Don't think we'll get to see much of the sun the next several days. Clouds/rain....drought buster. Don't feel like it but probably should mow the lawn later today.

Just finished here, all set for a few days of rain. Mostly sunny at the moment and 61F, birds are singing, the air smells good...love these kind of days!
