A weather outlet had 76 degree dewpoints at the airport at 11 pm.  I mean they were off by 10 degrees on the dewpoint.  I was sitting at 61 dewpoint at 10:30 pm.  That's like not even close.

It was plenty muggy here last night, dp was 73 at midnight, steamy windows and all. We did have a shower in the evening for 0.18" total, nothing today though. August total so far is 2.86".

Yes, thanks for asking. The A/C company told us to turn it off at the breaker for ten minutes if this happened again, as a stop-gap until they could come out again. Thankfully it worked this time, but they'll be out here first thing in the morning (again).

This is basic, but have you checked/changed your air filter?

I'm also curious, last time you said that they removed an obstruction... is that like they opened a damper (lol), or what was the actual obstruction?

Stating the obvious, but you shouldn't be having so many issues with your system. Good luck!

Southwest edge of that storm near West Chester looks pretty mean.

Yeah it's warned here. Been out back cutting up branches from Monday's storm, the thunder has been impressive. Now it looks like it's doing a bit of a fade. Raining now which is cooling things off. High here was 85F.

  4. Received 0.65" of rain today, August total is 2.25". Started mowing late yesterday, got another bit this morning but had to stop cuz of the rain, hopefully will finish romorrow. Had a boatload of branches etc. to cleanup from Monday's storm, finally finished late yesterday. One of the neighbors just mows them, from the sound of things, lol.

In Glen Mills not far from Cheyney Road. All that happened on our property was the patio table was picked up and tossed onto the vegetable garden fence. Fence survived as did the tomatoes.

But it's a mess around here. One of our neighbors had a tree come down on their house. No surprise the power is still out. Roads closed all over the place. PECO estimate is 11PM tonight. That would be lucky.

Just got power back here - Yay! We have a small 4000 watt generator that I dusted off last night to save the food in the fridge. Now it's quiet and also a really nice evening out.

I do my best backup power research during outages, lol. Looking at battery backup with solar input capability this time around. Not cheap, but would be nice for next time. It's easy to get complacent since it doesn't happen too often.

Hope you get your power back soon too!

Tried to go pick up my daughter at a friend’s house and the road to the neighborhood is closed, trees down…looped around to come from the other direction and that end was closed too…guess she’s spending the night…

Had an experience like that from Floyd. This was pretty vigorous wind wise, still no power here and no indication of when we might get it back. Think Peco is momentarily overwhelmed...

With the road closed, the only sound here is the neighbor's generator, and katydids....very dark, lol.

Looks like the weather is quite comfortable back east in PA! It's been a rainy week since I've been here in Wyoming. Chances of storms/showers every day with a SW Pacific flow into the region. Was able to visit a local hiking spot this past weekend. I think I'm gonna like it here...

I can see why! So is that local local or 50 miles local? Beautiful either way. Had you been out there before? What's the elevation where that picture was taken? Good luck, and enjoy!

  8. With the 0.43 earlier, July total here is 5.70". Not bad, kept things pretty green heading into August. Not sure if I've been this enthusiastic about a cold front during the summer before, not because of severe weather potential,  but for the apparent longevity of the upcoming cool spell. Don't recall a forecast like this for the 1st week of August, with highs from 80 to 83 for the next week. Yes!

Hoping this keeps producing lightning.  I'm at a concert in Camden and have a great view.

I'm imagining it has! Been a real nice storm here, with a few pretty close strikes (<.05 miles), and then more laid back cloud lightning with some nice spread out lightning bolts and the long rumbling on thunder afterwards. Picked up 0.75" of rain, mostly at the beginning, still a light steady rain with some lightning and thunder. An enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening on the porch!

Nasty looking couplet east of Bel Air (ignore the purple relative velocity glitch):

Got a severe tstorm warning here, don't know if it will hold together. Plenty of thunder and lightning off to the west at the moment. Hoping at least for a little (momentary) cooling off.

Ok, so, we were all under some pretty ambitious storm warnings this evening, but it's looking increasingly unlikely anything's going to fire off tonight in our region. This weather is nuts. Seems like we won't have enough instability to puncture the cap despite temps in the mid 80's and dewpoints in the mid 70's. PWATs have got to be through the roof.

I will say that my perception of storm potential has changed significantly since our basement nearly flooded two weeks ago. I still have standing water in my dry sump well, something which we've never had in the nearly three years we've lived here. Before we received over 11" of rain in three days, I was all about the storms, but now... I'm actually less inclined to pine for, nor lament the scarcity of heavy rain. Classic case of being careful what you wish for, I guess.

Is your rain barrel near your sump? Where does the overflow go (from the barrel)? Probably not an issue, but just to rule it out. Or maybe your soaker hoses are really putting out, lol.
