  1. Look on the bright side, if these NW trends continue with storm #1, we'll be tracking two rainers by Friday. Viva la 700+ day snow drought!
  2. Looks like another I-95 battle on the Euro.
  3. “Gotta smell the rain if you want the best snows.”
  4. Seriously! Let’s just get some snow on the ground, it’s been years. Why worry about it melting? It’s gonna melt eventually.
  5. Cheer up Eagles fans, happy hour delivered again. Nothing better than being in the bullseye a week out
  6. The season is over, this team isn’t going anywhere. They barely beat the Giants here, why have any confidence they’ll win up there? Note to self: NEVER root for the Cowboys again.
  7. Maybe we should change the defensive coordinator again.
  8. On the news this morning, they showed water temps off AC at 47F. Yes, we have some challenges down this way. But too early to worry about details this far out, let's get this inside 72 hours.
  9. Just having Dr No back making rounds is an improvement over last year.
  10. I think the best I’ll be able to do is hope the Lions don’t win.
  11. My non-professional, uninformed opinion is if it turned the coast, it would probably be a rainer. As advertised on the GFS, a system scooting along south of us could work.
  12. While other forums have their meltdowns, at least the Philly forum is able to keep its sense of humor.
  13. Who did it? Who on February 4, 2018 said, “Let the Eagles win tonight and I’ll give up snow for 10 years.”?
  14. I’m all in on the snow drought now, let’s get to 1,000 days! And when we finally do break the snowless streak, I hope it’s a legit storm and not an inch of slop we get in a 3:1, crocus-crushing, paste job in April 2029. 36F
  15. Marginal threats are a vast improvement over anything we’ve had these last few years. We take!
  16. Gorgeous early spring morning out there -- sun shining, birds chirping, squirrels frolicking, yellow jacket buzzing, snow shovel fossilizing due to years of inactivity, 43F.
  17. Looking through some old posts, looks like the last time we had anything significant to track was the arctic front last Christmas. Before that, Jan '22??
  18. Trash night tonight. Have to remember to douse myself with Off so I don't get Malaria out there in our new, Christmas-tropical climate. 53F/DP 52F with crud
  19. This. Jan 15/MLK Day-ish is my annual toss-the-towel date. If we haven't seen cold and snow by then and the models are still can kicking any pattern change out into the LR, the writing is on the wall. Met winter is half over by then. (Yes, I know it snows in March and April). Not saying we wouldn't see a 10 day-two week period at some point where we can get on the board. But any significant turn around is unlikely at that point.
  20. Event total of 2.30", monthly total 9.75". The yard is a swamp this morning, 50F.
  21. Yes, the Pac jet has been the issue for the last several winters. I'm not cancelling winter on 12/27, but it seems I've been reading posts about the MJO cycling into better phases, jet retractions and SSW events since Thanksgiving. Just getting a feeling that in another 6 weeks or so, we'll be reading posts about how the writing was on the wall back around the holidays with all the cold air trapped on the other side of the globe and the wretched NA snow cover.
  22. Just want to make sure I'm following along...up until 48 hours ago, we were excited that a SSWE would occur to lock in a long-term, cold and snowy pattern. Now that the models seem to be backing off that idea it's, "we don't want a SSWE cause they wrecks our snow chances".
  23. Sun peaking out, temps approaching 50F (currently 48F). A typical Christmas Day weather wise in SE PA. Merry Christmas, everyone!!
