    I know nothing about modeling, but it seems they struggle with convection. It's a day to pay more attention to Mt. Holly and the radar than short-range models. Already 82F at 9am. Will probably make another run at 90F if cloud cover holds off long enough.

    Noticed today some lawns in the neighborhood are starting to brown. If we don’t cash in soon, drought guy watches may need to be hoisted.

    Started hearing katydids this week. Still looking for cicada bees to make their appearance.

    First mow of the season where I was kicking up some dust. July totals here sit at 3.10”, most of that falling early in the month. Storms in the forecast for the weekend. 82F/DP 65F

    Looked like the Great Pumpkin rising in the east.

    Seems the TP was the dividing line between the heavier rains. Ended up with .40” last evening bringing my weekly total up to .70”. 69F/DP68

    Got to 89F today before some showers came through dropping me down to 78F. Wonder if that will have any effect when the main line approaches in the next few hours.

    Plenty of thunder and some wind, but nothing more than passing drizzle. Still, it was enough to knock my temp down to 81F.
