  1. Btw, I wouldn’t mind a sleet storm. Haven’t had one of those in ages. Just not freezing rain or plain rain.
  2. That would be brutal....I’ll jump into the Allegheny, mon, and Ohio in the same night.
  3. NAM basically looks like AGC is the cutoff. Generally that means the frozen line pushes about 25-50 miles north and we turn to rain.
  4. Man, if the gfs is wrong and caved to the euro..that will be an epic fail. Knowing our luck, this will be the time the GFS nails it.
  5. Hopefully the ICON really sucks because it is a disaster for us.
  6. Like I said upthread. If you were to split the difference between the euro and gfs, we’d be in pretty good shape. Southern areas would have issues though.
  7. I think that is actually the 1.25-1.5 contour over southern PA. I hate reading these maps. I literally count contours starting at the dark blue to figure out which is which. It would be great if they didn’t use such similar coloring.
  8. Hah. I know for some of you guys a foot and a half can seem ho-hum. In the mid Atlantic thread they’d be complaining it wasn’t two feet. That, verbatim, would be a borderline top 5 all time storm for us.
  9. Euro holds steady! Honestly, even a compromise between that and the other camp would crush us in AGC
  10. Euro from the central thread sounds decent for us with low placement. Waiting to see maps.
  11. The January 2016 storm crushed places south of us. Allegheny county, as so often seems to be the case, was the cutoff. Places like uniontowb and waynesburg I believe got a foot and a half. Pittsburgh itself got 5 inches or so. It seems that everywhere within 50-100 miles has had huge 12-24 inch storms is the past 5 or 6 years while we always mix it fringe. As far as miller b’s go, they almost always cause slop for us. My general rule is to move the mix line 50 miles north of forecast. Miller a’s usually miss is to the east.
  12. Yeah, we have seen the euro in its own so many times then the other models cave to it. Hopefully that happens here.
  13. I feel like for us in swpa we could just copy and paste this snow map for most storms.
  14. This would be a top 5 storm for Pittsburgh verbatim. As it is, I’d glsdly take half of what that shows.
  15. I seriously considering visiting my friend in new castle. He is a snow lover too, and already said I could stay haha.
  16. Given that the freezing line got up to Dubois on the 18z I’d call this a huge improvement.
  17. Pretty sure this was exactly what happened feb 5-6 2010 when we got bombed. Really that is always our best scenario outside of the rare bomb miller A...primary dies as it gets over us, yet we are close enough to the coastal to be in banding from that too.
  18. Gfs will improve to the point that the storm missed us south.
  19. No, we haven’t even had that. and I checked, 10.3.
  20. I’ll have to check, but we have to be under 10 inches. We’ve had one 10+ inch storm in about 8 years, and that was last March that didn’t stick on pavement and melted in three days.
  21. Guys, for this storm you can blame us in western PA. For you guys to d o well, we needed to probably do well also...and we almost never do well.
  22. Yeah, but the fact it was the only one in our camp really and was agreeing with everything else is a bad sign.
  23. GFS About to run. I really think we need to start to see a correction south starting tonight, or at the very least it not going any further nw.
  24. I-80 isn’t safe on that GFS run. How many times can this happen to us?
