  1. Not sure what you think is happening here. I’ve had .10 and looks like the bulk of the rain will be south of here from here on out
  2. .10 here. Better than nothing I guess, but looks like we’re going to miss most to the south
  3. Bark is worse than the bite with this rain. Ground is barely wet here
  4. Thanks... I may do that. They’ll die eventually right? But the issue is they may come back next year if I don’t get the nest out.
  5. I lifted the flap of the vent earlier and sprayed wasp killer in there..... only a few flew out... but I could still here them buzzing... so I don’t think I hit the best somehow. I don’t want to just unload like 20 cans of raid in there if I’m not hitting it, so I think we’ll end up calling someone.
  6. Let’s put it this way... I’d hope if they could get in it would have happened already... since it seems like there is probably a decent number of bees
  7. I don’t believe they can get in... I took the grates off and there was nothing inside... you can see the fan and the pipe.... so I’m guessing they can’t get through the fan? And we haven’t see any inside the house either. The stove is on the back wall... so the actually pipe is only like 18” from the hood to the outside vent, so there isn’t a lot of space... I can see them flying in from the outside vent. It looks like there is a small gap where the flap is that is allowing them in.
  8. So I need some bee advice. We have a vent pipe from the hood above the stove that goes outside. There is very obviously a nest in the pipe because when I open the cabinet where the pipe goes through to the outside, I can hear them buzzing inside. What the heck can I do about that?
  9. If I could go back in time I’d probably do electrical or plumbing. Pretty hard at 26 now that I’m married and own a home... can’t really afford to do it, and not sure I have the time to learn it making very little $$. My college degree is useless in my current line of work. I have my hoisting licenses and pesticide applicators license and and making decent money, at least comparatively to others in my age group.
  10. Great gig if you can get it, but like most of those jobs, very difficult to get into. At least around here, you always hear we don’t have enough trade workers, yet none of these jobs ever come available.
  11. I tell people all the time this is what I’d like to do to Florida.
  12. It’s been pretty dry here. My neighbor has lived here for like 6 years now and he said for the first time since he’s lived here, he’s getting hints of sediment and staining in the well water. He’s pulling back on irrigating his lawn for the time being. I highly doubt the well is going dry, but sounds like may be pulling water from lower or getting the mucky crap you don’t normally get when it isn’t dry.
  13. I obviously don’t think it is right, the last think we need to be doing is cutting people’s salaries in any line of work. Its a really horrible situation, that has no winners. You feel bad for teachers who are being painted as not wanting to go back to work in person, when most would probably prefer it, and you have parents now who have kids home an extra 40 hours a week and don’t know what to do with them. It would be mice if some sort of governing body would step in and rain money down for parents who now need childcare all week. Seems like the only option.
  14. People are seeing first hand how powerful the teachers union is. Not sure how many other jobs you could tell your employer you’re not going back to work. My mom has a couple of friends who had kids late and still have school aged children. They (and apparently this isn’t just a few rogue people) want teacher salaries slashed and use the saved funds to pay for childcare for parents who can’t stay home with their kids. I bet this is going to be a pretty widespread idea when people’s taxes are still raised and now they are paying for 40 hours of extra childcare a week. My guess is when parent teacher conferences finally resume in person, you aren’t going to have a lot of happy people walking into those classrooms to meet with teachers, right or wrong.
  15. Yes it is. Nobody is getting a tax break for schooling going full remote, and on top of that, now many families have to find some sort of child care for that time as well. Lose lose for everyone.
  16. I actually worked at Easton CC when I was in college... it’s a nice little course... pine oaks, which is the 9 hole course and joe and Leigh’s isn’t bad either.
  17. Went to joe and Leigh’s golf shop in Easton today and picked up a 3 wood and another pitching wedge (I left my wedge on a course a few weeks ago)
  18. Yeah, maybe. Wasnt there an issue recently in NY because Cuomo was literally doing this same thing, but even taking it a step further determining what he thought was “substantial” enough good to be considered a meal item so places could serve alcohol. I’ve seen quotes from owners of bars and restaurants in NYC saying people are now ordering food and just leaving it so they can get a drink. So wasteful, and not really solving any problems.
  19. How many places now strictly serve only alcohol? I can’t think of really any of the top of my head. For the most part I think bars are in restaurants, and even the strict bars I’ve been to in the past serve pub fare. I get it I guess, but these wide reaching and generalized rules are going to kill some businesses. The wedding stuff I completely agree with. Hosting a wedding with over 300 people, even if outdoors, probably isn’t the best idea right now.
  20. Hope you’re quarantining first two weeks upon return......
  21. Thanks... I’m going to put some stuff down along the foundation tomorrow
