  1. Played Heather hills in Plainville today... absolutely covered in leaves.... barely an attempt to even keep greens clear... kind of disappointing for $50. Lost probably a half dozen balls in the middle of the fairway because of all the leaves. Not good
  2. I’m the first of my friends to get married and own a home, at 26. They have pretty good jobs, but are more the partying type. I’m not, so we are a bit different in that regard.
  3. My wife the other day said were running out of time, we’d need to have kids in the next year or two. We are 26 lol. I told her to get lost
  4. The “zestimate” of my house has gone up over 50k since we bought it in March 2019... that’s not even counting the improvements we’ve made. We bought for 400k and no doubt we’d probably be listing at 500k at this point if we were to sell.
  5. Yeah... like everything else, it’ll be geared to those that have the money. An example being people willing to walk up to the window and pay full price as opposed to looking for discounts on ski sites. Me thinks days of being able to easily find discounts on lift tickets if you are willing to take 5 minutes to look are gone
  6. This pandemic has also been a fantastic excuse to scale back benefits for a lot of businesses. Consolidating time off perks, getting rid of fringe benefits, and especially retirement contributions. The average joe is taking a beating even if they still technically have their job. This is happening all over too.
  7. This is going on in a lot of places. We voted to give up our raises and retirement matching this fiscal year (July to July) in hopes of saving jobs. Since doing that, we have all been worked like dogs and morale has never been lower (some guys have been there 25-30 years) so you know it’s bad if they agree. Our contract is up in July and negotiations are set to begin sometime after the new year. Pretty brutal time to be going in for negotiations. I’d be willing to bet we will be hit with the “ you are fortunate to still be employed” line.
  8. I’ve come to see a lot of this stuff has been pushed by upper level union leadership, not individual teachers. Seems what the union is pushing is not how most teachers feel
  9. Same.... there is speculation that it will be replacing something else though where I work. Not sure what that would be; or how true that is though .
  10. Looks like a pretty good slug or rain going to move through tonight
  11. I’ve seen the same handful of people since March, wear a mask whenever required to do so, and haven’t been anywhere you’d really consider a high risk. I’ve been out to eat once and haven’t been to any theaters gyms or anything like that. It is what it is, trying to do my best... we will be seeing some family for thanksgiving, in the safest way we can do it. Can’t completely shut down living your life
  12. The appetite for another lockdown I think is close to zero, especially since people feel misled about timelines and what was closed or open when it happened. Unless you plan on literally giving businesses enough money to close for x amount of time and then enough money to rehire every single employee when they can reopen, in addition to supporting citizens with real money (not a one time $1200 payment) it’ll never work. A starting point for compliance is probably going to be thousands of dollars per month per person.
  13. My buddy interned with the Celtics a few years ago... said Tommy was a remarkably normal fun guy. Never lost that with all the fame and accolades. Im not sure people truly realize what an incredible loss this is. There will never be anyone else like him in sports more than likely. Been a part of ever Celtics championship, literally. Truly sad day.
  14. But did they provide proof of their negative covid test?!
  15. I’m fully planned to pull the plug on my weekend trip the week before Christmas to NH... obviously they have a better shot at staying open to visitors, but I would not be surprised at all if 5-6 weeks from now we are back to no state to state travel
  16. Sounds a little different than what @powderfreak mentioned during the summer.
  17. RIP Tommy Heinsohn.... A Boston and Celtics institution
  18. No fans at Gillette at all this year.... pats don’t seem to happy. Seems like we aren’t following the science anymore in mass. Schools=good... outdoor stadium at 20% capacity= bad. Masks anywhere outdoors now? Just making shit up now
  19. A side note, it is kind of hilarious that one of the few companies not involved in the trump admins “operation warp speed” vaccine program is the leader in the clubhouse to produce an effective vaccine. Been a rough week for Don.
  20. Heh.... I’m not optimistic. Between the skepticism of the fast rollout and the already large (and growing) anti vaxx crowd in this country, that’s a large number to get too
  21. How many people have to get it for it to be effective?
