  1. Nope not at all. There's no stopping storm surge IMO. Water finally starting to go down. Can't believe how many people drive through this. Saw an SUV get it's engine flooded and stall.
  2. I'll be physically fine. Not sure my car will be.The water is 1/4 up my tires. Hopefully it starts turning any minute now and goes out
  3. Water entering many businesses on the nautical mile. Still rising too.
  4. Yeah. It came in quick! I'm in the parking lot across from Capt bens
  5. Water starting to enter the streets in Freeport
  6. I'm live on twitch from Freeport if anyone is interested. www.twitch.tv/nicholasisabella

  8. NWS may extend that high wind warning west into Nassau later today if models continue to show this.
  9. The 3K NAM also has more widespread wind gusts across most of the South Shore of Long Island, not just confined to the East end.
  10. I noticed that with their latest update. High end moderate is still bad for that area. Hopefully people move their vehicles
  11. The NAM must be off its rocker. I do not see how this would verify. I'd assume since the model includes sleet, that is what it is picking up because temps do not support snow.
  12. That is the same thing that happens in Broad Channel, water comes up quick through the sewers.
  13. Well said. Josh was in the same hotel as me during Michael. He's strictly hurricane and typhoons
  14. Would have been a pleasure to meet you Rjay. Shoot me a message next time. We were in callaway just east of Panama City. The hotel we rode out the storm in suffered damage but we didn't feel it was unsafe at any point. Surprising since the rest of callaway was flattened like a pancake.
  15. I am aware of that. But no one listening to the livestream have been in his shoes at that moment. I'm out of this discussion.
  16. It's easy to criticse from the sidelines but no body knows what happened before hand or what they were thinking. I for one am grateful they are okay and have no intention of talking negatively about them. To each their own though
  17. They knew the risk. They just underestimated the surge.
  18. Oops, I wrote my post wrong again. Still tired. I meant to say that 4 other chasers were in the same location as Bret.
  19. We were in callaway in the western eye wall. I could not believe how much damage it did. Certainly higher than our expectations
  20. FYI there were 4 chasers who rode out the storm there and experienced a similar situation as Bret did. One of them lost their vehicle as well.
  21. Sandy was a big story because of the high tide and full moon during landfall. It wasn't a hurricane at landfall and if it wasn't for those issues listed above it would have been a non story.
