  1. Monsieur, before you throw in your napkin, can I not beg you to have one little mint? If you're not full, don't worry, looks like this is a 30-course meal. Even after this invalid is rolled into the asylum he'll be exclaiming through drool about how Senator Little Marco Rubio of Alabahama is sad, weak, and failing for letting Daffy Dorian destroy his island. Some of the words in the tweet will be capitalized, but no one can say for sure which.
  2. At what point do people (who haven't yet done so) have an epiphany that this guy is not well in the head, and that he is a danger as long as he is in power? He's got NOAA compromising its integrity in service of his unlimited ego and stupidity. How the f is that acceptable to people? I cannot grasp that. And how do you function as a rational, viable person if you are incapable of a "my bad"? I can't wait to see how long this stupid shit goes on. Weeks? How is that possible?
  3. Yeah maybe make less excuses for grown men who say stupid things and attempt to cover themselves with vain, petty theatrics that debase our hobby and its science in the bargain. Maybe cut that.
  4. Watching Ryan Maue defend this sharpie bullshit is actually more entertaining than the sharpie bullshit itself. He has a PhD.
  5. It's what happens when you give a child a shitload of money and no discipline, and then he grows up, gets a brain tumor, and becomes president
  6. Whenever I think about global warming and get despondent I am cheered by the fact GOES-16 exists and will be bringing us HD footage of our short and brutal lives over the next couple decades. Can you see a food riot from space? Excited to find out.
  7. It snowed this one time lol checkmate scientardos
  8. People who don't believe in global warming are dumbasses
  9. cheap wine like paul masson getting absolutely blasted and i'm still not drunk enough to question the judgment of professional meteorologists re: whether the devastating hurricane is "extraordinarily devastating" or "historically devastating" MUUUUWAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH the freeeeeeenchhhhhchampagnehasalwaysbeencelevbratedforitsssexcellence
  10. It's more than nice out. It's niiiiice. I checked weather.gov and tonight's forecast is "100% chance of feeling like you're out on the deck with a cold adult beverage and the crickets are singing. Winds light and variable." This AI stuff is getting scarily human.
  11. Storms popping already and a strong line in New England. This is the most active summer I can ever remember. Just relentless.
  12. Question is, with blue skies to the west of the developing line, and plenty of sunshine left in the day, will storms develop on the outflow boundary?
  13. It seems like it won't be long until we're regularly clipping 80 F dews.
  14. It sounds like there's no dam way it can be saved.
  15. Storms firing north and west, nearly stationary cells. Several SVR in upstate NY and in MA.
  16. Nice distant CTG bolt with this errant storm descending on us.
  17. Don, just wanted to say you are a great and very valuable poster. Thanks for your thoughts and research as always. EDIT: But also everything in your post is driving me to drink so if I continue posting please excuse the deteriorating spelling and grammar.
  18. Hey if anyone would like to give me a reason not to be panicking about the environment, that'd be hugely appreciated, thanks.
  19. This was a standout event for me, and I didn't even get the worst of it. One of those cells came over my head in Piscataway. Hard to explain the feeling but it was like we were inside the cell, and the lightning was just dropping around us. There's lightning that's close, and there's that. Like the feeling if you go outside you are going to die. Wow.
