Got me interested so checked out the site, next is the barracks becoming some overnight accommodations and small stores. Good to see them really focused on the efforts. we do some of the events there with the kids, they put together decent stuff around the holidays.

How did I have a hunch you might chime in on this one:

I knew they’d get crushed and radar last night and the overnight looked great. When I was up in WBS & Hazleton they had gotten off to a nice start.

If the stuff over state college blowing up continues SE, the Catoctins will be a great spot in the next few hours.

There is, Greenhouse Cafe, good coffee and sandwiches. Theres also Chocolate Park Tavern for a beer or if you want to eat some decent pizza from the car, a Rocky’s is right across the street

Agreed, blue ridge summit to Cascade to sabillasville always a good spot for these.

Timing is everything it seems. Slower low and some of the features have = colder runs temp wise. This looked best as a Black Friday event, it has moved up 12/24 hours on guidance.

It got damn legit on i81 between Hazleton and Mahonoy City a few minutes ago. 81 getting covered and some heavy snow moving in to go with the gusty winds. 2”+ OTG in Mahanoy. bringing it south for tomorrow.

Will try to bring the snow down from the poconos for the sub. Nice grass covering in Hazleton, over 1” on those colder surfaces. Suspect they’ll do very well, see a WSW for 6-12”

It was 39 at the del water gap 20 mins ago now 32 on the car thermo and snowing nicely headed west on 80 towards Hazleton

33 and moderate to somewhat heavy snow just 15 mins later lol. Grass covered on the shoulders

Couple of thoughts. I am thinking of coming out for this one. Haven't been out since the MLK bomb to upslope event a few years ago (was awesome). Where's the best place for this one? Canaan, Snowshoe? I obviously did the last one in Garrett not far from you. The Raley properties are just so easy to book and quality places to visit (expensive yes, but the juice meets the squeeze). Do Snowshoe or Canaan have a similar property management group with places akin to those? Also, re: chains for the car. I know they can be beneficial with snow covered roads out that way. We drive a Lincoln Aviator SUV, pretty decent in the snow, but recommendations on chains if we started to do more of these journeys?
