  1. Is that 2 rain storms in addition to Friday's storm...or including? This pattern has been ugly. This will be thaw number 5 or 6 for the Tug. Watching snow melt and vanish is depressing.
  2. Can the GFS and Euro EVER look fantastic at the SAME time?!? Lol
  3. I probably have something similar as you do, wolfie. Don't know since I am down in Brown PA right now.
  4. Aw, man!! Probably beat yourself up for making that choice!
  5. I keep.checking the local webcam and it sure looks like it is piling up fast. Maybe with it being a wetter snow, and the end of week thaw being pretty short, some of it will survive?
  6. Man, it would be hard to be a snow lover residing in the north suburbs of Buffalo.
  7. You mean "cool welcome." Let's not use the words "warm" and "welcome" in any sentence...ever.....
  8. I HATE a winter pattern where it snows just for rain to wash it away a day or two later. Hopefully this doesn't continue the rest of the winter. The past three have had enough of that crap.
  9. Well, I am in Central PA for the week. When I got to Danville yesterday, it was 65 degrees with a thunderstorm. Looks like many of us might be able to eek out a white Christmas with this minor system coming through.
  10. Some very decent snow showers falling around the home this evening. Definitely a white Christmas there. When I got to Danville, PA last night, it was 65 degrees with thunderstorms! Might even be able to eek out a White Christmas down here if this system can provide.
  11. Definitely getting snow around my area this morning...as seen from this Cedar Pines web cam image.
  12. Lol....Today is the first day I have seen patches of grass in our area since the beginning....of NOVEMBER!
  13. After an inch of rain last night and temps around 50, some of our Snow pack is still holding on. Sure is ugly and we took a big hit...but looks more wintry than Syracuse down through Binghamton and as we enter PA on our Christmas travels today.
  14. Living in West Michigan, the les there was almost always powder with high ratios. This was because it was almost always with Alberta clippers and cold air. If temp was marginal for les, we usually ended up with rain or graupel.
  15. Part of the reason the New England crew scoffs at us and calls it fake snow. We could get a couple feet and record it...and then the next day be down to half of that as snow depth. It was the biggest thing I had to get used to when moving to a lake effect snow region. Snow piles up fast, but compacts just as quickly and has no lasting power in a thaw.
  16. Hmm, I have had better snow cover than her. But, again, probably because of lack of les. She sure is a committed lady. My friends here were discussing that the reason her totals are so high is because she is constantly measuring, compared to many others who have measured after some compaction has occurred.
  17. Good discussion. "My backyard" is definitely below normal, with lack of any great les bands thus far. Good point about it not being too tough for 1 inch...at least there is SOME potential for white over the next couple weeks and not a shutout.
  18. Geez Louise is the GFS ACTIVE in the long range! System after system....If that happens, I could see these systems progressively beating down the ridge.
  19. Disagree. They aren't showing the sharp cutter either. Many are showing at least some threat of wintry precipitation in addition to some rain.
