    Oh yeah, early afternoon was light breeze and upper 40's with a few local stations tickling 50 downtown. Different world down in the valley right now.

    I will admit, because it’s mostly bare ground here, I wasn’t sad to have full sun and close to 50 this afternoon. Beautiful afternoon for the Greenfield winter carnival and everybody had a good time despite the lack of snow.

    This is pretty bad. We are basically in the peak of winter and there is almost no snow cover around here below 600 feet. even last year we had a couple of inches of snow cover on the ground the first week of February. No snow cover, no snow in sight and above normal temperatures. Yay At this point I would take temperatures in the 50s to save on heating costs.

    Just status quo gray and overcast here all day, again. 2 days with seeing the sun in two weeks. Brutal.

    Right and you have plenty of elevation. The winter has been good for a small area around Ray and then a small area around Dave as far as SNE is concerned.

    @HoarfrostHubb I actually need to amend that. You and INeedSnow may have more snow in January then Mitch does at 2000 feet in Southwest Vermont. it’s an elevation and location winter. edit: I know that is true every winter but in your typical New England winter, the northern Worcester hills would not be out performing the southern green mountains.

    I’ve had snow flakes in the air four straight days with nothing to show for it.

    Freezing rain overnight, cars etc are coated.

    I doubt it will work out that way but if LA can pull off 12” of rain, that would be pretty historic.

    I will admit, the lack of sun has been kind of brutal. I think we have had one sunny day in the past 10.

    Outside of the elevations above 600' or so, those W MA totals are too high on the NWS BOX map. I drove all over the valley today and the I-91/CTRV corridor barely had more than an inch otg between Brattleboro and Springfield. Not at all giving you shit for busting because I liked your maps and I like your forecasts in general. I'm just saying that the NWS forecasts and the totals they are posting, for this storm, are a bit overdone for the lower elevations.

    Not sure how much they picked up this past storm but we are heading up to N Conway the weekend after. It will definitely be wintery no matter what. Cutters with rains to Maine seem to be off the table for a bit.
