  1. I just stacked my first fall wood purchase and need 7-10 days dry weather modeled before I go in on any more. I may actually try to plant grass this week.
  2. Looking forward to next week's flip to near normal. Hopefully can get a stretch of very dry after the remnants of Michael depart.
  3. Well, we were trying to enjoy a nice outdoor fire with the family but of course it's raining here, that's just what it does now, all the f'n time!
  4. Springfield Museums Oktoberfest. Fantastic event every year. Rain showers faded quickly and the beer garden in the Dr Seuss park was where it all went down. Springfield has some very friendly folks from all walks of life!
  5. In Springfield for a work event and surprise-surprise, it's raining. W MA is apparently the new East Coast deciduous rain forest zone.
  6. I'm telling you, a low precipitation winter, in terms of snow, would make me a little sad but I'll take dry and cold if it means no more rain. I am one of the rare few that if it's not going to snow i'll take dry and frigid. Arctic air masses and frozen bodies of water fascinate me with or without snow.
  7. Ok thanks. I imagine a few areas in that list are adding another inch or so today. Plainfield is not far from me. As you said, I suspect there are areas mentioned that could be higher.
  8. I would venture a guess there may be places in E Upstate New York that could be pushing 40" since July 1? I don't know, maybe there are places in W CT pushing 40?
  9. I am so done with rain! There has to be places pushing 30" since July1st. Does the elastic band snap just in time for winter and we go dry and cold? At this point there are probably places where there could be zero precipitation from Dec - Feb and they would still be above average.
  10. Yeah, I spent the day facilitating the Cub Scout model rocket event at Turners Falls Airport. Bluebird day.
  11. February 2013 was pretty wide distribution but from your area up to Burlington was a little more pedestrian.
  12. Nice write up on that one: http://cms.met.psu.edu/sref/severe/2003/5-6Dec2003.pdf
  13. Desperate posts asking Will and Scott if there is any chance the mix line slows down it's advance and then even more desperate posts asking if there is any chance it collapses back South as that monster coastal hugger buries WNE.
  14. A lot of the enthusiastic, first time, legal marijuana growers in MA are quickly going to learn the heart break of powdery mildew and bud rot!
  15. Yeah, I'm probably way over 20" in the stratus, just haven't added it all up yet and I'm sure I missed a few inches when the dog chewed up my old one.
  16. You, Iceberg and Sugarloaf must have some ridiculous rain totals. I'm over 20" since July 1st so I assume it will not precipitate at all here between Dec 1st and March 1st.
  17. But I uninstalled yesterday and have the woodstove going this afternoon.
