    Just took a nice drive. It is dumping snow a mile from my house. The rain snow elevation cut off is dramatic. Just below 700’ it flips from heavy snow to moderate rain as it goes from 35° to 36°. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a dramatic cut off.

    I’m in Turners Falls, right now, literally next to the River at 100’ elevation and it’s snowing. Not sure why Greenfield is all rain. Even the hills just west of Greenfield are wet not white. Maybe shadowing?

    It was pouring rain earlier at 34/32 and just couldn’t get it to flip. Wet flakes mixed in now. i’ll take a ride up into the hills later. Seems like NE of here better than W of here.

    Must be coming down pretty good up in the hills because there are a lot of cars in town with several inches of snow on them.

    What the hell? There’s even snow on the ground in downtown Greenfield at 250’ el. My neighborhood is the only place getting rain right now. LOL

    This reminds me of the October storm. Snowing to my N, S, E & W. There’s snow falling and accumulating 2 miles from my house at 700’. Pouring, close to 2” of liquid now. 35/32

    looking at radar you can see your area is in the sweet spot of heaviest precipitation right now.

    Not sure why precipitation is shredding out so much in W MA and S VT? Looks better to the W in E NY. Anyway I'm going to bed. Hopefully some score big tomorrow.

    Just not getting the solid banding heavy precipitation but maybe it's coming? I keep going out into the driveway spotlight and seeing the liquid equivalent of arctic sand. Some elongated drops with lots of small misty rain drops. Reminiscent of the shattered dendrites I see during a valley shadow, screw job in January.

    You must be getting much better precip rates. I'm 34/32 and light rain. Radar still looks pretty showery in SNE so that doesn't help.

    35/32 Was hoping to see a mangled flake or two before bed but precipitation has lightened up, so even with the dropping temps it's still a liquid affair.

    Yeah, 35/32 here and pouring rain, can't believe I'm not getting cat paws mixing in yet. 1.4" liquid so far today. Drought cancel.

    36/33 here with big elongated rain drops. It must be pounding up the road in Colrain above 1k. I'm a little too IPA buzzed to take a drive and find out.

    I had some crazy guy scream at me a few years ago because I answered my phone at a gas station. I wasn't even pumping gas and he said I could blow the entire place up with the static electricity from my phone.
