    Yes it is. Northampton, right on the river, does better than Amherst. Those hills just to the east in Pelham and Shutesbury are pounding snow while Amherst sits in -SN.

    It’s not just placement of the frontogenesis that screws the valley. Hours of Easterly fetch tend to be underwhelming unless you are above 800’ elevation.

    Well, the CRV people are always mentally prepared for these scenarios. Doesn’t mean I won’t bitch but I expect Dave, 30mi E of me in Hubbardston to get 15”+ while I get 4-5” of sand.

    I remember as a kid watching Don Kent drawing L's and H's and Dr Joe Sobel on the local AM radio station talking about "prodigious snowfall" for big storms.

    That outcome would produce a lot of giddy weenies. 20" from Boston to Berkshires is a pretty historic storm if it played out that way.
