  1. Multi year slumps are definitely common but I think bad years stand out more when areas 70 or 80 miles away are bombs away. I would say Dave and Whinemister are getting a pretty hard shaft too relative to average.
  2. Yeah but there's nothing I can do about it, so I've tried not to get too worked up. Still time for a good snow storm or two, it's just been a long wait and it gets tougher to produce here in about 4 weeks. Being fascinated with weather in general, that cutter Thurs/Fri runs from the Texas Pan Handle to Caribou. That's how you get rain into N Maine in mid-February. Love it or hate it, that's impressive. Be nice to get rid of the ice in my yard.
  3. Yeah pretty amazing courses this year. The men’s downhill combined was crazy tight and fast. I love the ice castle design on the freestyle we are watching.
  4. Look how red their faces are when they are waiting for their scores.
  5. I would need about 45” That’s probably not happening so let’s just start with maybe getting me a storm that verifies warning snow? Biggest this year was 5.25” My last double-digit storm was December 2020.
  6. It's cute that the GFS tries to give not one but 2 cutters for the biggest ski week of the year in NNE. I just noticed the system out at 240hours end of next week.
  7. Yeah, probably ski Bretton Woods or at least my family and friends will. (I’m being cautious of my knee) I was hoping to do some cross country skiing but I’m all set with bulletproof trails.
  8. The Cape has had some good winds this winter.
  9. I’m headed to N Conway on Friday for a few days. Hope the snow groomers are working overtime next weekend.
  10. Agree but eastern Connecticut has certainly had some nickel and dime‘s too that WNE missed.
  11. That gradient is insane. I assumed W CT had done better than that.
  12. I was counting on a few of those this winter but they have just not really materialized yet. SE SNE is having one hell of a winter. Some of you guys are 30 to 40 inches ahead of most of Hampshire, Hamden and Franklin Co’s. Possibly the biggest gradient I’ve seen since I moved here. Actually some of you guys are probably 20 inches ahead of Dave who is generally the snow capital of MA.
  13. That or isolated jack zone that got lucky a few times? I have been out that way a couple times this winter and the snow cover has not been impressive.
  14. I’m suspicious of the 37” in the N Berks too. Seems high unless they had some big total in December that I missed.
  15. Sun came out here for a bit, nice sunset on the W edge of the system.
  16. You would’ve been very sad this winter if you were still at your old place out in Shelburne.
  17. We have definitely had a few grinch storms over the years heading into that week.
  18. Well, models were pretty consistent for nothing in NW MA. Too much dry air to overcome I’m guessing.
  19. Can this one pull off, the ever elusive, Newport jackpot?
  20. Your area up through Taunton and towards Upper Cape look good!
  21. This one is for EoR weenies. My expectations are low because cold dry air is filtering in as we speak. Sharp cutoff but I could see somewhere around Carver or Lakeville jacking with warning snows.
  22. If you drew a line from Hartford to Newburyport I think anyone S & E of that has a shot at decent accumulating. NW of that I would be cautious of virga based radar hallucinations. I expect only flurries here but even N Worcester Co. could be a nothing burger.
