Northampton is only 40 miles from Hartford so that’s a pretty amazing gradient to go from 14 inches of snow to zero.

Man, I wish I could’ve taken the day and gone to the Cape. There’s nothing quite like seeing snow on the beaches.

29" on the season with average of like 62".
I’m just numb to it at this point.
Sorry for those who have wells but now I’m just praying for a desert dry spring and summer. -
I’m resigned to another below to well below average winter. About 21” so far and I average 55” or so.

The flakes were incredibly large. Great snow growth all storm long.
That’s awesome and pretty rare these days.

Four down. Light snow and breezy
You have 4” in Springfield? Holy cut off. I’ve been as far south as Easthampton today and there’s nothing on the ground.

heavier rates to the south so snow....in marginal airmass you need heavy rates to be snow
This is why I’m actually happy that Greenfield didn’t even catch the fringes of this because it’s 36°. It just would’ve been white rain.

Back edge not far away, but we've had a reasonably snowy couple hours. Grass almost not poking through. Congrats to the CT valley peeps south of the border.
Razor sharp cut off because I’m in Northampton and there’s nothing on the ground and it is not precipitating.

I know it's in NY (please don't yell at me) but cool waves on the back side of the snow on the radar. What is causing that?
I haven’t looked but maybe gravity wave?

Broken slate gray sky here. I don’t think we’re going to see a flake this far North.

It doesn’t look like anybody N of Pike will see much of anything. You can see on radar in PA/ENY that the back edge of the precipitation shield starting to collapse SE.

There’s a town you don’t hear mentioned often! The twin megalopolises of Berkeley-Dighton.

Is anybody in MA getting accumulating snows yet? Radar looks snowy along the border towns.

I see that "arc" on radar, extrapolating that east doesn't look promising NOP
Upstream radar looks terrible for anyone outside of CT. Hopefully they can grab a few inches but this one is an exercise in heartache for most of SNE.

Confluence kills big time on this one
Confluence without a strong high over Quebec or any polar air to speak of. N stream just didn't show up at the playground for this one. It was always thread the needle, so fascinating meteorology if nothing else.

CT and RI are going to get some accumulating snow tomorrow, the rest of us in SNE, outside of Cape Cod, are SOL.
-
If you look at radar, the cutoff of precipitation from Lexington KY to State College PA is razor sharp. Not what you want to see if you are expecting a large precipitation shield into SNE.
-
This should go down as one of the all time great, region wide rug pulls. Glad Cape Cod and some far SNE locales will grab some snow. Enjoy!

Technically, it’s not a bust because we know it’s happening ahead of time? When I was young, a bust was always waking up in the morning the storm, and having it be not storming.
yeah I guess relative to standards of todays modeling maybe. I dunno.
I really think this requires some kind of analysis research to figure out what happened I mean this is a pretty serious indictment. I bet you the UKMET is right for the wrong reasons.
Correct.
