Its over before it began, Time to move on.
Two in a row. It’s going to suck if a strong La Niña materializes next year for a porking trifecta.

Worst insect season we’ve ever witnessed is unfolding. Record warm winters will do that
Not if it stays dry it won’t be.

With historic rains in between. Can't make it up.
Last summer was garbage in the valley and we followed it with a garbage winter.
I hope it’s Taos dry this summer.

The warmup looks nice. Good high pressure at times should make for some great days.
Pattern looks like dogshit though once we get into the second week of March. Very cutoff-y looking.
Imagine that, just shocking.
I bet it locks in for a good 4 to 6 weeks too.

I wonder how short next winter will be. Might end after December if we get Nina.
Will it ever begin?

Nobody in SNE is seeing 80's in March this year. Low 70's? Sure, especially in a down slope dandy location.

What a furnace on the ensembles. Hopefully the fruit trees don’t wake up.
Legit concern especially if we get a late season cold snap.
Last year as you probably know we had no peaches and very few plums or cherries on trees around here. The apple crop was also negatively impacted. My friend owns Headwater Cider and he could barely press last year.
Maple syrup season is also going to suck if the temperatures are not getting below freezing at night.- 1

Maybe. Last year we had a wet May and a near-constant rainy June, and we feared the worst. Instead, black flies and mosquito populations were less than usual, and we had the fewest deerflies since we lived in Gardiner. BN tick attachments also.
Oddly last summer was not bad for mosquitoes here. The larvae probably all drowned from the constant rain.
As usual ticks were bad spring and fall but fairly scarce in the summer. Interestingly there were a lot of pet owners having flea problems last year. Our vet said it was unlike anything he’s ever seen.

If it’s going to snow again around here I’m sure it will be mid month when I’m down in Hilton Head.

I did ok with the November storm.

About an inch here with steady light snow. Looks pretty at least.

Light snow has commenced up here. Bad kind of storm to be on the east slope really, but it's a bad storm in general.
Light coating here earlier but temps suck and the precipitation shield looks like it went through a grater.
Flakes and a few pellets. 34F

Lmao…let’s freeze everything solid..including people.
Many here would love to get an event like that!

That will happen on our lifetimes as will 80 degrees in SNE in Jan/ Feb like DC did. Maybe not in 5 years.. but it’s coming
Cheer up, if we warm that quickly, it will speed up the disruption of the thermohaline circulation cycles. Then you will be on your way to those truly legendary winters of yore for which you long.

This is heading for a full ratter here relative to normal. I'm sitting at 21" of snow on the season. December and February (so far) being full on disasters. Seeing little to no snow yesterday all the way down I-91 from N VT was depressing.
People are out on the ice here, including the coves of the CT River.

There is hardly any snow-cover from St. Johnsbury all the way down 91 through White River Junction. In mid-February!
Brutal.

Same, maybe a little more but steady light baking powder still falling here. Dense, I made a pass with the shovel and it wasn’t the fluff I thought it was.

Have a nice burst of moderate snow here. Probably be done after this band moves through.
