  1. Ok some snow ow in South Durham
  2. Not just 0 accumulation, but 0 flakes in Durham
  3. Eric Webb posted his final call which takes RDU area down to 2-5". Seems like more and more dry slot guidance.
  4. BTW, thanks @lilj4425 for starting this thread. Win or lose across the region, it's been a fun ride. Thank you for your service.
  5. Can someone make both the positive and negative case about Euro performance at this range vs. last week's storm? Not just a "we never get snow" vs "it has to work once" argument, but an actual data based assessment?
  6. 20 degrees and sleet in South Durham. About 1/4 inch on the ground
  7. Some sort of weird sleet / freezing rain combo in South Durham. 21 degrees.
  8. Just a reminder about Duke's take on their 2002 response: https://www.wral.com/story/108406/
  9. I rarely post here despite being a long time lurker. But why exactly are our models so bad at this? We seem to have improved immensely with hurricane forecasting in the last 10-15 years, but modeling this type of event seems to have had zero long range progress. What's the inherent difference?
  10. Just barely see a few flakes in the air in South Durham. 29 degrees.
  11. I'd trade all of this storm for the fantasy GFS storm next weekend.
  12. Currently 46 in south Durham. Peaked at about 47 an hour or so ago. We'll see from here.
  13. I recall about a year ago someone put up verification scores of GFS and despite everyone discounting the 18Z it turned out they were all about equal. So data ingestion aside, I'm not sure it's a good reason to just discard a run because it's a mid-run.
  14. You're right, I was looking at 00z still. Definitely better on most recent.
  15. Not for our area. It's cold chasing moisture. Basically rain for 12 hours and then hope the cold gets here. That never works out.
  16. Still sleet in South Durham. No buildup on signs or trees or anything. 30 degrees though.
  17. Sleet still here in South Durham (near Southpoint). 28 degrees.
  18. Never bet against 34 and raining in this area.
  19. NVM, I was looking at wrong location apparently...Well that would be something if it verified.
  20. Where are you seeing SREF plumes like that? I see <1?
  21. 3K looks much more reasonable
