Nice thing about living on the trail, 50 miles before work this morning in an hour and a half. First 2 miles leaving the house is a little dry, but overall pretty decent going. Will probably start riding from the house now.

Yeah last year was the only march/April snow that was useless, my average snowmobile end date is April 15th within 30 mins of my house, not doing big groomed trail routes, but a lot of 150-200 Mile logging road and lake days

GYX and CAR disagreement it looks currently, if I get an inch I'll be surprised/happy, still have hopes for Monday instead but even that isn't that exciting

I always feel bad for the SNE guys when it rains down there, but besides remote workers (myself included) and the couple mills that are left this area relies heavily on winter tourism which is primarily snowmobiling. Another year of poor registrations and I think you'll see more clubs start to fold as it's mostly volunteers that are aging out. Whenever dryslot or dendrite is happy usually we are too.

Did the first pass out our Northern trail tonight and in town trails to the businesses. Still need another 6 inches to do the rest of the system but hopefully between Friday and Sunday we get there. Probably ride from the house Saturday instead of trucking em 25 miles north like we had been.

2.0" for the final here, hopefully will be firing up the groomer for the first pass out our Northern trail tomorrow, then we pray for the next two to help us get the rest opened. This is the latest first grooming run since my time as trail master the past 11 years, and my grandfather as trail master the 6 years before that.

1.5" of pure fluff here in Guilford, Maine and snowing steadily. Radar looks good down in dryslot and GYX area, not sure it'll make it up this way sliding due east, though looks like a nice band over YUL that hopefully doesn't get shredded by the time it gets here.

Was hoping we were gonna see this keep sliding a little more north, but if we get 2 I'll be happy, might be able to get one trail groomed after that, just need something for the drag to process. Hoping by Monday we can collect 6-8 total and I can at least pan the rest of the system then.

We got stuck in one in the Gaspe snowmobiling back in the winter of 2018, legitimately couldn't see the trail in the woods where we were, had to stop for 20 mins and we got a few inches of snow in that time, absolutely insane and my camera couldn't do it justice.

About 6 hours from the house, not too bad of a drive, just getting through Quebec City with a trailer can be a little interesting sometimes. Probably will take the wife to Riviere Du Loop for 3 days presidents day week, but that's still 5 hours. We live on the trail here, typically we ride from the house NYE through March 15th, but the past few years have been abnormally bad.

Glad we went to Quebec this weekend snowmobiling instead of hoping last night's snow worked out, about 600 miles in 2 days of riding around Mont Valin and Forestville.

Id avoid Greenville at all costs until they get another foot. The trails east and west of the lake are through the woods and crooked which take a decent amount of snow to make nice. We trucked to Quebec to ride this weekend since everybody and their brother was riding Eustis to Millinocket areas.

Around an inch here, storm definitely shit the bed, last NWS update here was still 4-6. Oh well, guess another week of not opening trails, local businesses are hurting after 4 straight crappy winters up here, might as well sell the sleds and move to somewhere we can golf year round.

Kind of surprised CAR is still going with this after things seem to be slipping away, still hoping for 5-6 here to help finally get the local snowmobile season started, but gut feeling isn't good

Hoping it comes a tic west up here, right on the edge I think of the better stuff. We get 4-6 I'll be able to do a pass with the groomer finally, though rather have 8-10. Hoping hardly any QPF today as it looks mostly wet

If that keeps sliding northeast we'll be happy here, decided to head to Quebec this weekend so that'll help the chances of us getting snow back home while I'm gone

Not sure what CAR was seeing, or is there some sort of preceding cutter to the potential Monday? "The next weather system to watch will be a frontal system approaching Friday night and pushing into the area on saturday. The GFS is carrying a more solid front with the potential if or south winds ahead of it to bring a warmup with wind and rain.The ECMWF, however, shows a less organized system brushing through with only a chance for some light precipitation and southerlies not strong enough to raise temperatures above freezing across the area."

Never got above 27 here today, staring at my 1 inch glacier and sad snow piles in the yard. I hope we can squeeze at least an inch tomorrow and maybe Tuesday ends up popping for us. If we get rain next week I'm selling and moving to Lab city. Finally move back north and can snowmobile out of my garage door and had the worst possible snow seasons since I did...

Took 2 hours off work to stake the lake today, 3 miles long, 10-16 inches of ice, another week of this and we'll be able to take our big machine across the ice. Might be bad for snow, but we're making ice like crazy up here. Hope something works out for MLK weekend, we have the base and frost, literally 6 inches and we can be grooming. Businesses are hurting after the last 4 crappy winters. Wife's 2017 900ace, could maintain 95 mph the whole way down the lake so we got the corners right.

If that would slide due east it'd be money here, but probably would split the St Lawrence with our luck.

About 1.5 inches of pure slush, better than I thought we'd do so far down in the river valley, will be curious what the groomer barn north is getting.
