  1. in the winter of 22-23 it passes for the Blizzard of 78.
  2. A whopping 1 3/4 inches of snow(on car) in Methuen. Snow began around 9 AM but there wasn't any accumulation till around 2 PM. Anything that fell prior to then melted. There was less accumulation on the ground than on the car. There are bare spots on the lawn. Driveway is just wet.

  6. Just go to Harvard Square and you will see plenty of flakes...
  7. Same here in Methuen. The snow that did fall melted quickly.
  8. Considering how wet and warm the ground is it will be interesting to see how much snow can actually accumulate.
  9. Mess with the Pope at your own peril...
  10. Back in hs we often had the same bus driver for away games. To say the least he was a character! Occasionally he would let someone take over the wheel. Now days he'd be on the national news for doing that. On the way back from the games he'd drive around the city dropping us off at home or close to home to save us from walking home from the hs after the game(s) We all learned a lot from him. He treated us like adults not kids.
  11. After World War 2 an uncle moved to Caribou to get away from the world. He lived there for many years and he could only recall 2 times that school was cancelled. Both times because the school bus doors had frozen closed and they could not be opened.

  13. Early candidate for comeback of the year!
  14. I'm surprised they did not have all the students get out of the bus and then push the bus! That happened once my sophomore year on the way to a basketball game. Bus got stuck at a traffic light. We all got off of the bus to push the bus out of a rut.
  15. It is amazing how quickly there are delays and cancellations for schools. Back in the day it took a lot for school to be cancelled. I do not recall ever having a delayed opening.
  16. Forget walmart....this is the place to go for toasters!
  17. Was he correct about today's so called "icing event"????
  18. New Profile pic and new screen name! NYC_RAIN_ANT23
  19. ..but the past can help to predict the future. 100% accurate??..no it is not but it certainly can provide a good baseline for where things may be heading.
  20. Back in the day the on air mets would take the time to explain the possible outcomes. Now they show model output/futurecast with no explanation or forecast made.
  21. I wouldn't "trust" any favorable pattern until it has been in place for at least a week...
  22. Many years ago when I first began to have access to the internet and weather models I thought it was cool to be able to view the models but after a while I began to realize how bad thee models were. They are the equivalent of prospect lists in baseball. Both lead to people being disappointed more times than not.
  23. This morgue has plenty of spots available for modeled snowstorms..
  24. meaning he will find some"cause" besides man made global warming
