  1. I never realized JD Martinez was in to forecasting hurricanes.........perhaps the Death Moon can explain his season long slump???
  2. I'd rather deal with the cold than the heat/humidity.
  3. And there are ways to mitigate the risk for frozen pipes. The water can be shut off and the pipes drained. Old timers would do that and then poor some alcohol(some plumbers recommend using non toxic antifreeze) down the drains and into toilets. Some would use sterno to help keep pipes warm. In 2018 a friend got through a power outage by using a solar powered generator and some heating tape to prevent pipes from freezing. . And he also used a set of portable solar panels to help keep other devices charged. He used a few large coolers to preserve much of the food his family had on hand.
  4. CEO of Eversource makes slightly more than 19 mil/year. Clearly the CEO and his colleagues have not taken the time to plan for a storm even on the scale of Isaias. I thought PURA mandated that Eversource suspended rate hike rates for customers?? And this should be a wake up call for those who wish for a repeat of the hurricane in 1938. Power would be out for months not days if a repeat of 38 occurred.
  5. Agree. As I mentioned yesterday Bob was a cat 5 compared to Isaias in the Merrimack Valley area. Hell Isaiah Thomas caused more damage in the MV area than Isaias...kidding .
  6. The October Gale of 1841 would also work
  7. I'd love to have a time machine to transport me back in time to experience that storm. And The Hessian Storm,
  8. Might as well go big or go home.....perhaps the murder hornets all fly to one of the poles and cause the poles to flip.......
  9. LWM maxed at 38. Not much of in the way of wind and rain in the area.
  10. Hopefully one of those branches did not hit you in the head.
  11. File a damage report with NWS
  12. About as short as the Sox playoffs hopes were this season.
  13. Bob was a cat 5 compared to this storm in the Merrimack Valley area....
  14. It was "windier" yesterday.
  15. Same here in Methuen. Had a few sprinkles earlier.
  16. Look into the long term rate and wait until the next real threat comes along in a decade or 2........
