What’s with all the doom and gloom? The Euro has a 970s mb low plowing into New England for the 16-17th threat, isn’t that exciting?

the equivalent of the north rays media saying they are  in on every "name" free agent but failing to sign them...

For me as long as it snows..I’m fine. If it’s above before and after so be it. Bring the snow like on Sunday.

..not me. I like having a snowpack on the ground during winter. I want it to feel and look like winter.

I was just talking to some Eversource linemen at the gas station and they said they're close to being on their own this time around.  Depending on how it shakes out in Kentucky, Ohio, PA, etc, they may be able to pull some crews in on Friday.  But they're not expecting much mutual aid.

I am not surprised. Power outages are increasing in the south and along the east coast

Interesting, what sets 1995-96 from the others is that we went back to a very snowy February, March and even early April.... was that because the blocking was exceptional that winter or because the la nina was weak (as compared to 2010-11)?

2 major snowstorms in April including the one the forced the cancellation of the home opener in boston. The 2nd one began shortly after the home opener was played...narrowly missed a 2nd cancellation of the home opener. Fenway was an absolute icebox!

so many folks going to be a popsicle when they wake up without power tomorrow.

These come in very handy during a power outage: inexpensive to buy and run.

Light It! 30302-308 Luna LED Tap Light, White 30302-308 - The Home Depot

Amazon.com: GearLight Camping Lantern - 2 Portable, LED Battery Powered Lamp Lights, Magnetic Base and Foldable Hook for Emergency Use or Campsites - Stocking Stuffer Gifts for Men : Sports & Outdoors

    And for water issues:

Quick Dam 10 ft. Flood Barrier QD610-1 - The Home Depot

The Quick Dam works great and it is very easy to use. And it can be used over and over.

Around 190K right now between Alabama/Florida/Georgia.

Probably see a good amount across the mid-Atlantic later on with the squall line ripping through there.

I'm sure though they will get power restored relatively quickly within these markets...but it does remain windy on the backside so that could delay restorations possibly if conditions are still too dangerous for crews.

That is a concern. and with widespread power outages expect across a good chunk of the east coast, that will limit the power companies from brining in crews from other areas to help restore the power.  Usually in situations like this I notice out of state crews in various staging areas. I did not see any crews in some of those staging areas this morning

Are you serious? 1.5" and 13-16" gradient over 4 miles??

The NH seacoast area can be a challenge to forecast for. As can be several places in southern NH. Pelham has several micro climates based on elevation.

EPS looks like goes between the BM and ACK...

Funny, it sounds dumb, but I had a really good feeling when I started getting that OES CJ during the day on Saturday...that is pretty rare here and I feel like it portended where the atmosphere wanted to snow.

The OES was even "heavier"  in parts of Haverhill and Plaistow than in Methuen. There was a noticeable difference while I was driving down 495 and 213 to get back home.

Exactly now STFU go whine about us in OT or post some stupid Boomer memes

..and also let me add this, I don't  think you would say STFU in person to me or any other forum member because in- person people are more respectful of one another.  The online format makes it easier for people to say things that they would not say in person.  And that is an issue with all online forums.

Yes he is another do gooder goober with no sense of humor. But back to weather hope your basement stays dry, heck of a storm you had

..and let me add this, I hope no one here including you has any basement flooding issues or any water damage caused by a leaking roof. It is time consuming and expensive to repair. And there are a lot of dishonest contractors out there who take advantage of people....no one needs the aggravation of dealing with a water damaged home.

@Great Snow 1717How much did you measure in Metheun?

18.75....keep in mind that the area had OES(snow/sleet/graupel) for several hours prior to the main snow shield moving in. At midnight there was perhaps an inch of snow on the ground but it snowed heavily for several hours prior to dawn. Mostly light snow in the morning but heavier periods of snow in the afternoon and early evening.

    What did you measure?

I had the album.  It was a giveaway from a gas station when you put x amount of gas in (I was 8 in 1969 when it came out).  Played it until I memorized it.  It's now available on Spotify.

great album. I still have that one and several others that were put out during that time period. Mets have a fascinating early history. I recall the 1969 World Series where the Mets stunned the Orioles.
