Incredible warmth has been the story since 12/1 this winter, along with incredible amounts of rain.  Classic strong El Niño winter and more warmth just a few days away.

It has been a non winter...

That’s a bold call…not sure I’d have the guts to go the over on a 15-day prog of 0F.

Why?  What's the WX connection/connection with a post in this thread with this?   ...Or out of all of the different internet forums that you have open at once (minimum of 10), did you post this one here by mistake?

no I did not post by mistake....lol

I take it you must be infatuated by the heat. It's so funny how you're so anti winter forum. Someone must have really hurt your feelings because you seem to have a vendetta out against this winter forum.

    Just my observation

    a vendetta?????

Not sure how much more my basement can handle.

Anyone got any tips on how to waterproof a fieldstone basement?

Short term you may be able to use one of the Flex Seal line of products.

Another option is to use a Quick Dam(s) to absorb water

Quick Dam 10 ft. Flood Barrier QD610-1 - The Home Depot

Home Depot also sells portable sump pumps.

Also use space heaters to keep the basement warm.

No...relative sense. I have several inches.

    I'll measure tonigth.

your home must be surrounded by trees. In my yard I'm down to grass in many spots.

back in my days 60s we had snow all winter long sledding every day

went to school during snow storms great times

I recall those days. Back then it took a lot to have school cancelled.  Now school gets cancelled because it is hot/cold...

That’s very short term thinking, what good is a foot of snow if it all melts away 2 days later? That’s why temps matter, if you can’t get sustained cold you won’t be able to build a snowpack.

    I agree.
