  1. Most likely back to new england. The hardest part about moving is finding a place to live
  2. The 9th level of hell, actually. But I already decided a month ago Im not staying here...just quietly wrapping things up...
  3. This HP centered over TN has been relentless. We havent had rain in so long, the vegetation is severely wilted, the ground has been baked dry and big cracks are forming, the trees are losing their leaves due to drought and heat stress. We just keep baking under 100 degree heat. Such a turn around from all the river flooding that was ongoing when i first moved here in March
  4. You all need to come hang out under the HP that is firmly entrenched over TN/AL. It's like a forcefield. Any coldfronts that try to sweep through the area come to a screeching halt and The south is just baking. The forecast going out to two weeks is just ridiculously hot down here...mid 90s as far as the eye can see
  5. Currently 650pm and my heat index is holding steady at 100. Had a high of 99 on mon or tues, today we hit 98...puts our heat index 105-107
  6. Damn, i was obsessed with those pants. My tolerance for cold isn't as great the older I get. But I cant live in a place that doesnt get snow. My soul would die.
  7. Dude, you guys are killing me. And I Dislike Nashville. Im trying to plan moving back. I will def chat with Alex.
  8. Look for organic bug sprays with eucalyptus, geranium, lemongrass As effective as deet
  9. Dec 12, 1982 Schaefer Stadium Snow Plow game. Pats Vs Dolphins
  10. Nashville is baking under the High. I think our Average is 84/67? Today we hit 94...going to make a run at 100, before we "cool" back to 90 by Friday
  11. Summer coming back with a vengeance in the south, highs predicted 95-100...sigh...
  12. Gloria, April Fools Snow Storm, Monson/Rt 20 Tornado Top 3 Not sure I have 2 more. Non New England, I went through Super Typhoon Bart on Okinawa
  13. I love how the track has always bent away from cape cod, then bends back toward cape breton and then straight shot to newfoundland...and im not in MA anymore so i cant even claim it's my curse...
  14. I saw some eyewitness video of storm surge at least 25ft...im not sure of the elevation profile of Abaco but that would probably put most of the island under water
  15. Still 90+ fooking degrees Nashville...sigh...
  16. Last month, an entirely new round of hickory nuts started dropping. This new crop is getting annihilated by the squirrels. I never knew Hickories would produce two rounds of fruit. The ones I collected earlier and sent you, there was almost no squirrel interest. I guess the squirrels know the seasons will change soon and they are eating everything they can get their paws on.
  17. I also edited my post, lol. And i told you not to worry about shipping costs do you have a plan yet for your hickories?
  18. I think it is a cherry, the bark looks like individual blocks, the leaves are narrow and toothed and are a dark waxy green. The fruit looks like a wild cherry. Im most used to seeing black cherry in SNE, and prunus fasciculata out west...
  19. I won't be surprised if Josh doesn't make it, or he gets seriously injured.
  20. When I was on Parris Island, we had TS conditions that shut down training for 1 day but we didnt have to evac. I bet they are trying to decide if they need to pack up all the recruits and move them inland.
  21. Striped Maple : Reproduction A flowering striped maple. (Flickr user pverdonk, 2013). The striped maple is a flowering tree, or angiosperm. Interestingly, the striped maple can be either dioecious (only male or female flowers on an individual tree) or monecious (both male and female flowers on the same tree). When dioecious, this maple can also change from a male to a female tree. As an understory tree, it can sometimes get shaded out by other trees. In a last-ditch effort to propagate, the tree will change from male to female and put all of its energy into forming seeds.
