  1. I think down this way we stole some of y'all precip. I was just under an inch and many CO-op's reporting .9-1.1 inches this am. We were supposed to be 1/3 to 1/2 on the models and north and south of us get more. Sadly 99.99% fell as a cold rain in 34-36 degree temps. I've had more snow (flurries) in last two hours than all of yesterday lol.
  2. Yep, I am just north of I-64 and between Covington and Clifton Forge. BTW, it has been pouring here last couple hours, so there is plenty of percip heading north and east.
  3. I'm not. I was just pointing out that just because there isn't stuff falling from the sky at one spot doesn't mean the storm isn't happening elsewhere. BTW, hope y'all get plenty!
  4. I consider myself part of this 'group', when I woke up at 5 am it was already raining and 35 degrees, so yes, it HAS been going on a while. Remember this covers a few states, just not your back yard. Course, I know snow is a IMBY thing........BTW, STILL rain and still 35 here.
  5. And same temp here with just good 'ol rain.......oh well.
  6. Picked up 0.5 of sleet yesterday before the flip to freezing rain then rain. Rain was heavy for a couple hours. So that is 4.6 total snow/sleet for the storm and 1.79 liquid. Wet, wet, wet. Still have right at 3" of VERY sloppy snow/sleet/glop on the ground.
  7. This was a WET system! I had 0.78 of liquid at 7 am on 4.1 of snow. An insane 5.3 to 1. Course it snowed here for about an hour before it started sticking, so that skewed the numbers a bit. Today I picked up .5 of sleet and I changed gauges when the rain started....0.20 liquid, that is 2.5 to 1. Crazy!
  8. Just a bit of freezing drizzle/mist here now, picked up 4.1 overnight. 28.8/28.1
  9. Looking on traffic cams it looks like the line is from Harrisonburg to C'ville right now and slowly moving NE.
  10. I have an inch on the board and the roads are caving. 30.8/30.0 here. DP was in low 20's just 2 hours ago. It took about an hour of 20-30 dbz's overhead here before flakes started making it to the ground for those waiting to my north.
  11. I'm about 50 miles SSW of you, first flakes are drifting down after about an hour of 20-30 dbz overhead.
  12. 07/08 11.4 inches

    08/09 13.1 inches

    09/10 68.6 inches

    10/11 19.5 inches

    11/12 16.5 inches

    12/13 25.9 inches

    13/14 41.1 inches

    14/15 33.7 inches

    15/16 33.4 inches

    16/17 6.4 inches

    17/18 21.5 inches

  13. What is this 'full sun' you are speaking of? Haven't seen the sun since Friday afternoon here. Still heavy cloud cover at 1:30 pm here, although have made it above freezing at 33.4 degrees. That is first time since Friday.
  14. Just a bit more fell overnight, recorded 0.5 for yesterday and making a 4.9 storm total here. 3.5 is on the ground.
  15. Happened here last night twice! Frustrating to say the least. I think it happened in C'ville also.
  16. Same here. Been lightly snowing last 3 hours here, picked up a new 0.4, so that gets me to just under 5 inches at 4.8 for a storm total. Hey, I'll take it
  17. I guess not, but maybe you could invest in a new ruler for next storm!?! Congrats on breaking into double digits.
  18. Agree! Was figuring they'd throw out a 6.8 or something......
  19. That is what happened out my way, about 4 inches of snow, then about 2am it flipped to sleet that packed it down and about two hours of drizzle/snizzle. Heavy, heavy stuff to shovel. BUT, it is white and pretty! Been snowing lightly past 2 hours, coated everything back over, looks like another 0.3, but I'll measure here in a few.
  20. Only every 6 hours, over 4 measurements in 24 hours is a no-no per NWS.
  21. Love the sparkly crystals showing up! Awesome storm for y'all!
