  1. About an inch (of rain)in past 24 hours here and a giant temp range of 4 degrees lol, 37-41.
  2. DCA: +1.7 NYC: +1.1 BOS: +0.5 ORD: +1.8 ATL: +1.7 IAH: +2.0 DEN: +0.4 PHX: +0.5 SEA: -0.3
  3. I do like the southern trending, gives us something to look/prod/poke at!
  4. OK, here goes.... BWI: 34.4" DCA: 25.7" IAD: 39.3" RIC: 24.8" Tiebreaker LYH: 33.1" MBY: 47.7" I am bullish that we hit a 3-4 week 'jackpot' in an otherwise cold and mundane winter.
  5. Your ground temps should be in the 50-54 degree range right now. You should be good for a while.
  6. DCA: -1.6 NYC: -1.8 BOS: -1.2 ORD: -1.9 ATL: -1.2 IAH: -1.3 DEN: -0.9 PHX: +1.5 SEA: +1.6 Snow later EDITED for snow totals 11/18 DCA: 20.6 NYC: 42.5 BOS: 54.1 ORD: 50.6 DTW: 52.7 BUF: 100.9 DEN: 69.8 BTV: 97.4 SEA: 9.6
  7. So DCA is gonna sink below sea level over the winter???
  8. RIC sits in a pretty good cooling spot, they can hit a freeze pretty early some years when others around don't.
  9. BWI: 11/13 IAD: 10/16 DCA: 11/13 RIC: 10/26 Tiebreaker: 7.56
  10. We always hooked ours into the soffit under the eaves on the back of the house, near a window so we could watch. About 20 foot off the ground, no problems from animals, but bees LOVED them. They drained one in about 2 hours one day, you couldn't see the container from the mass of bees on it.
  11. BIL is 99% sure he had a tornado go thru about 30-40 minutes ago. Has a 100-150 wide path shearing off trees and damaging roofs! Hail about a quarter too. He is about 20 miles east of Roanoke near a community called Goodview. EDIT-he got HOME at that time, storm was before 6 pm.
  12. Warning just ended here for me. A gust to 31 and rain was all I got, but bigger and deepest part of storm looked just south of me on radar
  13. Wow! That thing crossed 220 THREE times and only two injuries? Amazing and lots of lucky folks, that is a fairly busy road.
  14. Just dumped the rain gauge for the 7 am reading to CoCoRaHS. 2.62 inches for the day, that will set a new daily rainfall record for the date beating 2015's 1.84 inches.
  15. Over 1.25 so far today here, just had a mean looking storm roll overhead. LOTS of low hanging spinning clouds and winds gusted to 41 mph.
  16. I think down this way we stole some of y'all precip. I was just under an inch and many CO-op's reporting .9-1.1 inches this am. We were supposed to be 1/3 to 1/2 on the models and north and south of us get more. Sadly 99.99% fell as a cold rain in 34-36 degree temps. I've had more snow (flurries) in last two hours than all of yesterday lol.
  17. Yep, I am just north of I-64 and between Covington and Clifton Forge. BTW, it has been pouring here last couple hours, so there is plenty of percip heading north and east.
  18. I'm not. I was just pointing out that just because there isn't stuff falling from the sky at one spot doesn't mean the storm isn't happening elsewhere. BTW, hope y'all get plenty!
  19. I consider myself part of this 'group', when I woke up at 5 am it was already raining and 35 degrees, so yes, it HAS been going on a while. Remember this covers a few states, just not your back yard. Course, I know snow is a IMBY thing........BTW, STILL rain and still 35 here.
