Im just used to the clown maps being fun to look at it and not taken for verbatim. It is a wash rinse repeat cycle here in the Carolinas for sure with the models. Yeah we do get a storm every so often. I just dont expect much snow here and that could just be me coming from the north into the south I guess. I know its tough to snow here outside of the mountains, so I have my expectations pretty low.

Def winters were colder in the 70-80s. Even growing up in NW NJ we got a ton of snow compared to the 90s to today back home. Im here now, so just deal with what ma natures throw ours way, I dont have a choice otherwise

As much as I am a winter fan, Im not rooting for a ZR event. I dont think we will get one here near RDU but places NE along the VA/NC line will have way better chance. I lived through the Dec 2008 Historic Ice storm in Southern New Hampshire. Thank God we had a generator hooked into our circuit board for our well, refrig, heat and some lights and wifi. But the days after were just brutal cold. This was a view down the road from my house up there in Derry.

I picked up .75" since midnight here by RDU. I didnt see any snow or sleet but there was quite a few mPing reports around 1am ish that show rain and ice mixed in the area

Its just one of those winters, Im not counting on anything frozen wise here, thats for sure. Just rain here currently at 42*

I think it is from snowfall reports sent into tjhe local NWS office. Plus the mountains you wont get exactly spot on as there are so many different variants that can cause snowfall to be different from mile to mile
