  1. True story. We have a 12 year old golden retriever. When she was around 2 our daughter was 11. We were vacationing on a lake in NH near the ME line. It was a hot day and she went out on the lake on a big tire raft. The dog decided she was out too far and swam to her, put the rope tow line her mouth, and swam her to shore. I have a photo of it somewhere...an amazing moment!
  2. Same here more or less though I try to keep 68 in winter, 72 summer.
  3. Looks good in about an hour of it holds together
  4. My skin says who cares-just keep it dewy
  5. New Zealand is supposed to be among the great places to be!
  6. Well hopefully travel is easier soon so you can see some snow!
  7. I’m feeling a little forlorn..was hoping for higher heat...as in >95...
  8. Surf....reliable on jersey shore growing up....maybe some beaches in New England but jersey followed by California spoiled me...
  9. I said ratter but true...it’s way too early. I think I can take a reasonable wag around Labor Day. On the plus side...we’re due for decency in winter sort of. I’m still coming for you mreaves!
  10. Maybe it was the 70s in January that made it reasonable..., My snow was my lowest since I moved into this house but that’s only 5 years. You’re right thought..l.a major ratter but 2011-12 and 2001-02 felt worse. This WS more along the lines of 1994-95.
  11. I think you guys were maybe 25% sub normal?
  12. First of all I sincerely hope you never get it. But be aware of its misery for many healthy people. You’re not in your 20s-you’re closing in on 50.
  13. December to February 2002-03 and March and beyond 2012 would be good.
  14. I was a lot more apprehensive going to work early on but now it’s routine like everything else. All of our extended family are in Chicago, NYC, California but we have many friends here. We had a neighborhood party last night outdoors. When we all come indoors in the fall I suspect people will be more apprehensive. If we don’t get a second wave ala 1918 we should be ok but that’s a big if. I’m not of the mind to take unnecessary risks for the purpose of working so I plan to be retired before winter. I have not been inconvenienced all that much-have enjoyed no longer wearing a tie at work and not having to fly anywhere. However I miss my grandchildren a lot and really need to get out to California before too long once the surge does down out there.
  15. You’ll take a hit for not having central air now though. It may be in form of negotiating cash back to the buyer at closing or something similar
  16. So the high risk group includes all of your parents and grand parents, both candidates for president, etc. Many of those who have had it and recovered are still not the same. If you get a mild case it’s probably manageable. But if you-Kevin-avid runner-got covid you probably wouldn’t be running for months. As an older person still out there and not shut in, I take every possible precaution but live my life.
  17. I don’t think it was as bad but on the next tier up. That said, there’s no ratter like a nina ratter.
  18. It’s early but my initial sense is big ratter. I plan to spend a lot of time in VT
  19. “Think of all the hate, there is in Rex China, then turn around at look at American Westher....”
