  1. Agree. And sometimes you can pop 12+ from the juicy overrunning pulses.
  2. That was a fun December. I remember Schwoegler’s map with the boundary in the sweet spot for us. 6-10 every week it seemed.
  3. A touch of 1970-71 on the op 0Z gfs tonight in clown range.
  4. Go to the oldest pages of the forum and you’ll see the lead in to the winter of 2010-11 and the Boxing Day storm. Fun times.
  5. Get well Tom! Glad it wasn’t a stroke or heart attack!
  6. And remember Thanksgiving for Leon Lett!
  7. You should understand the context before quoting that part. It actually was from me about 15 years ago give or take during a very mild November and early December. I used that to prophecy the pattern change that year presuming it would be complete be xmas. My recollection is it ended up being a mild winter. May have been 2006-07? Just can’t remember the year.
  8. Regrettably, I’m out. Heading to Chicago 12/8-12. Last minute but the only weekend that works for us.
  9. OT but I’ll be missing the gtg. Got a great deal so we’re heading to Chicago that weekend.
  10. I never thought I’d post the but ewwww….
  11. I have no concerns at all. But that doesn't mean I think it's going to be a great or bad winter. I just stopped giving a shit as much as I used to. Que sera.
  12. It actually won’t happen that way but I’ll give you Sunday up into the mid 50s potentially. Today felt warm after the recent cold but my high was normal. When you moved here from LI, did you expect deep winter 5 days before the calendar turned from November to December?
  13. I’d rather the boredom now. An active pattern 11/22-12/6 typically produces mainly rain for most of sne.
  14. And as far as pulling back-last nights 384 vs today’s 372.
  15. I got an email this morning pitching a large number of Big Papi cannabis dispensaries in MA.
  16. What you mentioned was the green grass etc. it’s been well below early April normal temperatures for a week. Give it a month and then it changes to blah color. That to me is a typical progression although I admit the first 10 days of November were absurdly warm.
  17. That hasn’t been true in my lifetime including my 38 years in New England. Snow in November is rare. Normal climo today for Boston is 49 max. We always had cold days in November but rarely snow more than a light accumulation and even that has generally been hit or miss. Has everyone forgotten winter moths that we get during the warmer November’s and December’s? Regarding Canadian geese: They hang around in SNE and winter here at least for the past 31 years which is when I moved back from LA.
  18. What I notice is jersey growing up is SNE today. Admittedly I grew up during a time of amazing winters but as mentioned earlier we had our share of duds also. In Boston, it snows more now vs 40 years ago especially the most recent 30 year normal (1991-2020).
  19. It would be tough. I remember when growing up in NJ it went sub zero pretty much every winter. It's quite the rarity in that area these days.
