I think the Melbourne area is going to get some of the strongest winds, being in the northern eyewall.

Already dropping into the upper 30s in the colder areas of Nassau and Suffolk. 41 here.

If it stays clear and the mild air can hold off, this should be my coldest night. Already down to 43.

37 here this morning. Looks to be interesting around here Friday night. Will be interesting to see how much wind we end up getting.

More and more it looks like an inland route for Nicole. Could be an interesting Saturday in our area.

I just look at the NYC Marathon and how it was in September until 1975 and then in October until 1985 and since then it's been in November and we still get similar temperatures.  That's all you really need to know.

 

The thing is, most people would rather see mild instead of below normal cold.

Potential east coast storm in about a week. The problem is it is a week away, so much can change.

After a high of 68 degrees, already down to 52.

42 degrees here this morning.

After a very comfortable high of 71 here, now down to 49 degrees.

Looks like the potential for some strong winds and rough waters next week along much of the east coast, especially from the Jersey shore and south. Low to the south and strong high to the north will create strong pressure gradient.

Already dropping below 40 in Muttontown, down to 43 here.

If it stays clear tonight, I wouldn't be surprised for some frost in parts of Long Island.

Antarctica has about 90% of the worlds ice volume and about 70% of the worlds fresh water. At least the Antarctica is not melting as fast as the Alps. This report was on ABC news tonight and it was a little misleading.

Brookhaven National Labs on Long Island has had 1 year at or below normal the past 25 years. The previous 25 years had 13.
